I got a K&N drop in filter. Nothing noticeable.
I also got one of those voltage stablilzers, improved midrange response, idle and slight increase in mileage?
But best thing for a non tech guy to do is get some lighter weight wheels. They can be expensive but the lowest tech you can go other than removing weight from the car by removing seats, airbags, etc!
Oh and one other thing I'd recommend is switching to a synthetic differential and transmission oil. Have no way to dyno my car but my butt dyno tells me there was a difference after I changed the stock conventional stuff to royal purple plus a great improvement in shifter action and quality (royal purple qoutes 10 dynoed hp improvement on their muscle cars from switching oils). I'm also usuing royal purple engine oil as well.

 

There isn't a lot you can do with these cars on the cheap. When I bought mine, I was looking through all the old threads for some clue (because I was trying to avoid all the ****'s telling me to use the search), but there doesn't seem to be any. My last car was a Talon and there were a ton of cheap mods for that car.
Try and ignore all the jerks on this board and focus on the helpful guys. There are some.

do you mean the K&N intake sets or just the drop in filter?
