ALL rx8s are all motor...if you want nos, you will have to have a good tune at a 50shot any higher will need extensive tuning....turbo will cost a lot more but will yield more power

and im tellin you nicely use the search function up top

The kinds of people that randomly show up and post here never cease to amaze me. OP, all motor is naturally aspirated with no power adders. A turbo or NOS for that matter is not "all motor". Also there is very little that can be done to increase the naturally aspirated output of the RX-8. This is where someone rude would suggest you get forged pistons and a race head to get "all motor" power. I will be slightly less rude and suggest you use the Search button conveniently located at the top of the screen. Its on the right and has a little arrow next to it. There are approx. 1 billion posts about increasing power of the car, especially in the ironically named Major Horsepower Upgrades section.

Just to give an "answer" because I feel like posting - let's say you start with a car with roughly 175-180 whp which is probably norm. Throw at it a race pipe, cobb accessport, uhhh......race pipe......accesport.....oh said those. Then you can start chasing the little things. LWFW, intake, exhaust, pulleys....... You can get north of 200 whp, but not a ton further. Now, we're not talking everything you can do but if I went "all motor" that's what I'd have done and it'd be a lot louder than my car is now. This is a monster CRH nitrous thread in the maj hp section.

please answer a few questions so we can get a better idea of your field of knowledge.
1. how long have you owned your 8?
2. how many engines?
3. what fuel octane?
4. what were your previous cars?
5. have any of them been FI?

I will seriously reply--as i think the person that posted is speaking of building an engine not just add ons?
there is a lot of stuff you can do to this engine.
HP to gain from lightening the oil pump system and treating the gears with a friction treatment, bevel cutting the lead sparkplug hole and some intake ports, modifying the exhaust port for better heat control, very slight porting of the exhaust port, getting rid of the secondary airpump system which includes weilding shut the space between the exhaust port sleeve and the side plate, possible double apex seal install, coating the recess on the rotor face, better balanced rotors, oil shedding coatings on the inside of the rotor, LIM port matching with the engine intake ports, getting rid of the vdi and sealing it, gringing down all those castings marks inside the intake and engine intake ports, upgrade the ignition, cooling mods, true and well tuned cai, throttle body porting, and omp mods.
race teams are making 235-240 to the wheels. Couple that with a 50 shot and you are almost at the 300hp to the wheel mark.

Aren't modifications after the throttle body and to the engine itself prohibited in many series there?

cleaning up stuff is not (removing casting marks etc),port matching is ok without increasing the overall size of the ports, gear treatments are ok, coatings are ok, bevel cuts to the intake and sparkplug holes are for life expectancy of the engine only.

Check post #11. I posted a link to the thread of the car I think you are talking about.
