So unless we get a huge power increase (ie, turbo kit), all 6th is good for is fuel economy.
That is the whole single purpose behind an overdrive

Despite all the debating and figuring things out, ultimately a higher ratio rear end would be very beneficial, IMHO.
No, I quoted the wrong dimension for the tire but I used the correct values for revs for mile of 804 which is what I used in my calculations.

I don't want my gears to be any shorter. I already do enough shifting. With additional power mods, you'll be spending greater percentage of time shifting on 0-60 runs with 6.0 final drive ratio.

BTW, I concur about the speedo being high. Using mile markers I have consistantly clocked it higher than 60 MPH when going 60 MPH. I would estimate 61 to 62.

Also the fuel cut off probably isn't instanteous. I bet you can get it to go higher than 9500 if you are pushing the car hard.

To get back to the original question, has anyone found any different rear-end gearing ratios available yet?

This definitely deserves some type of award. Bringing back a thread from over a year and a half? Well at least he/she can't be told to do a search, but damn...

Contact Fast Freddy. He has a website.

He's been racing 7's for years. He told me I'd kick *** on the track if I changed my gear ratio's.

I do believe he said there are two packages available for changing your rear end.
