Aftermarket performance - best bang for buck

Can anyone please tell me what aftermarket part (s) can I get the biggest bang for my buck?

Basically, I want to improve performance, by spending the least amount possible. Modifications that are safe to the car, would be my top priority. Thanks very much in advance.

I'd say exhaust, suspension, flywheel

That is the order I'm modding my car in

suspension, pulleys, flywheel

I personally love my exhaust and intake, but if you are going for "biggest improvements", then that is the order you should upgrade.

depends greatly on what you consider performance and what you plan on doing with your car.

flywheel have proven gains, but MS flywheel and dealer install is going to cost you just over $1,000. Gains will be with acceleration in 1, 2 and 3rd gears. No hp gains.

a CZ stage 1 kit with canscan to tune it will run you about $850 brand new, or in the used market you can get everything for about $500. Gains will be around 30 hp.

Exhaust and intake are not going to give you much, and if you want bang for your buck, they should be avoided unless you just like more sound from your car.

Basically this car has been setup very well from factory, you will have to wait a month or two before real FI options are available, then you'll be seeing 300+ hp RX-8's.

Agree, and personally I would wait about 4-6 months after the FI comes out to see which ones are actually performing the best (without glitches)

I´d go for the CZ stage 1 kit... Even when the SC or TC get on the market you can still use the CZ ECU. Performancewise all of those who´s got it seems pretty happy with it. Catback, suspension are mainly for the looks of it. Flywheels could also be a good invenstment. It depends on what kind of drivingstyle you want....?

Can Zoomer, or flywheel are your best bet.

Racing Beat Flywheel and SR aluminum engine pulleys seem to offer better acceleration (than stock) without drawbacks. Your warranty should still remain valid with this mod if that is a concern.

CZ1/2 piggyback ECU, will require tuning, tuning gear, and time - time is like money for some. Any mod's to the ECU can void your warranty, though the ability to remove it lessens the risk of getting caught.

I'm thinking that a ZEX 55 shot of NO2 maybe be the biggest "bang-for-the- buck" though INITIALLY (you can search for this data) till you have to keep refilling.
