AEM Cold Air Intake?
I'm kind of new to the RX-8, and I honestly don't know much about cars in general. That said, I've been thinking about doing a few upgrades to my RX-8 so I can improve the performance. A friend recently told me that I should check out an AEM cold air intake. Is this a good idea? Is AEM a good brand? Would this make any difference at all? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

you want to improve your performance, I would recommend getting an awesome suspension set up from racing beat. The intake is hardly worth what you pay for it as all it does is produce a bit more noise. AEM is a pretty reputable company thats for sure, but your car will not gain a lot of power by adding it on. For acceleration purposes, I would recommend a lightweight flywheel, and going on a diet. Besides that, I personally recommend the agency power crank pulley and the racing beat street flash. Do some searching, there is a shitload of info already out there if you're willing to find it.

Power!!
Agreed. Search up on intakes. There is a thread here dedicated to them with a bunch of info. Intake and exhaust don't get you much on this car. If you want one though my vote is for the Racing Beat intake and cold air duct.

I like my AEM, don't notice anything until the upper RPM's. It is loud, that is true, but I stopped hearing it after I got my new exhaust. Either way never bothered me.
