Add Horsepower for drag race?

So my question here is has probably been asked here before but I honestly don't understand car science. My straight forward question is. What is the best Intake system for a 2004 rx8 for maximum Horsepower. What about exhausts? What is recommended? How about headers? Now, I'm talking non turbo/nos Horsepower.

What is the best and where can I get it from? Thanks

For the money the best intake is the stock one with a drop in filter. Exhausts and Headers provide little noticeable HP gains in this car. The RX-8 was not designed to be a 'drag' car. If going fast for short periods of time in a straight line is your desire then a Nitrous system is your most cost effective mod.

for uber cheap drag racing results follow these steps:

1. Saw your exhaust off, its a major restriction. If its makes alot of obnoxious noise you know you did it right.

2. Put the biggest spoiler you can find on it(check ebay). Downforce makes your car faster in a straight line. Its the ultimate mod for those who live life a quarter mile at a time.

3. Find a body kit(again ebay). Dont worry about fitment or painting it. You'll shed countless ounces by just screwing it onto your car with some woodscrews. This can gain you thousanths in the quarter mile. It can literally mean the difference between a mid 15 second pass and a mid 15 second pass.

4. Rims. very important. Make sure when you install them you use 30 series or lower tire hieght. If you cant feel every cigarette butt you run over, you did it wrong. Also set the camber so that 1/4 or less of your tread actually touches the road. This allows the tires to run cooler and we all know colder tires are stickier!

5. High performane stickers are commonly overlooked. See if your friends have any left over or check ebay again. Greddy stickers are the best. It doesnt matter if you have any greddy parts or not. The stickers reduce friction and can give you the edge when racing your neighbors completely stock family car. If you can beat him by at least half a car length you will gain mad street cred yo!
