ACT vs. UR Clutch
Hi everyone,
I'm gathering all the info I need for a flywheel and clutch job. I've decided to go with the ACT Prolite flywheel since it seems to have the lowest MOI. I am trying to find a good clutch to pair up with it, and I was looking at the ACT Street clutch, but then I saw the ones by Unorthodox Racing. They offer several options, but I don't know which configuration would be the best. My 8 is a daily driver, and it's still NA though I may go FI sometime in the distant future.
These are the following I'm considering:
#1 ACT: Street Clutch (Organic) - Sprung Hub
#2 UR: Full-Face Kevlar Clutch - Sprung Hub
#3 UR: Windowed Kevlar Clutch - Sprung Hub
#4 UR: Segmented Ceramic Clutch Kits - Sprung Hub
Is there anyone out there that has the ACT Street or any other clutch on the Rx8 that can comment on the pros/cons?

If you are looking at going FI I would just look at the torgue ratings of the different clutches. I like to have at least 20% less torque than the manufacturer says it can hold to be safe. I personally like ACT but I don't have experience with them in the 8. The race clutch would be my last choice for a daily driver.

I'm not sure what to 'like' or 'dislike' about a clutch other than whether or not it works properly.
I have an ACT clutch in my 8, and it works just fine. It doesn't require any more effort, as far as I can tell, and grips/releases in an intuitive fashion.
