ACT flywheel counterweight differences
ACT flywheel counterweight differences
Hey guys a quick question about the ACT counterweights. I have searched for hours and can't seem to find what the difference is between the cw01 cw02 and cw03 counterweights offered for lightweight flywheel applications. If anyone knows of a thread with the answer or just knows the answer that would be great as I am replacing my clutch and flywheel asap!
Thanks
Thanks
i believe only the cw03 is called for the rx8, the others are rx7's. Maybe we can get "Mr Flywheel" to comment.. paging Ray, Dr Ray to the forum please.

When I had my rotating assembly balanced I was shocked at how bad it was.....
the ACT counterweight was marginally better than the stock flywheel...but it was still a long way from balanced
There was 89+ gms difference in each end of the shaft....not great Mazda

I imagine some are better balanced than others..mine was on the poor end of the spectrum from what I was told
What do you mean by the second sentence?
For sure...most engines spend there time sub 6K RPM's most of the time...
It does explain why the race engines have been less reliable than they should be based on previous engines
