Lots of money, race only engine. In this case 20b is your friend, or FI.

As discussed in another thread and posted by TeamRX8:

Knight Sports N/A Rx8
https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/rx7-rotor-housings-renesis-engine-176251/

Panspeed N/A Rx8
https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...76#post3064676

Both in the 300hp range, but technically no longer renesis engines, mostly older 13b with some renesis parts IIRC, I'll let the experts chime in since I don't know $h!T.

The problem is mostly budget related though, are you willing to pay more than 15.000$ for an engine build? Would it be practical? Cost effective? reliable? Nah...
I know that racing teams have rules to follow, but still... If it were that easy to get NA power out of the Renesis, racing teams would be able to get more. The plain fact is that porting doesn't give you worthwhile results for the cost, and NA mods aren't all that different.

That said, I'm sure I'll get them all eventually... LoL Except porting of course.

Yep, making power is more a matter of port location

Ok, realizing that if such a thing were possible, that it wouldn't be steerable, legal, or have any redeeming qualities whatsoever, let's run the question, how would it have to happen? Since the OP ruled out increasing displacement with a 20B and also ruled out FI, that only leaves increasing the RPM of the horsepower peak.

The porting would have to be enlarged to an insane degree, while also testing the ports heavily on a flow bench, and the housings would have to be extensively modified to relocate the coolant jackets so that the ports could be extended enough. Additionally, the rotating assembly would have to be lightened to allow the horsepower peak to be increased from 8,500 to at least 11,500, assuming that torque at horsepower peak is common between the stock and modified engines (which isn't really a safe assumption; but for ease of calculation, I used that as a starting point). To be blunt, I think you'd have to rework the Renesis to work as a DKM instead of a KKM.

Could it be done? I think it possibly could, with an absolutely insane amount of money and a lot of time (a quarter million for R&D would be a good start; but probably wouldn't be enough).

Should it be done? Maybe by Mazda or someone else who could have a chance of recuperating their costs; but anyone else doing so would have taken the equivalent of climbing Everest to go across the street.
