20b

He guys,

I am from Austria and now i wanted to modify an rx8.
I´ve found one with an broken engine.
Now i want to install an 20b engine.
My questions are:

Are there different 20b engines?
Does the 20b engine fits on the original engine retainers?
Fits the 20b engine on the rx8 gearbox?

ok we should make it easy >)

What do I have to change everything?

best regards

tom

Everything. It's not a plug and play conversion. It costs on the average of $10,000 - $15,000. Most that have done it have spent more.
Try the "SEARCH" button.

Theres a direct swap from the cosmo, which is the cheapest route. Then you can also buy a race 20B which is considerably more expensive option but it has strengthened seals and the like.

My understanding is that you need custom engine mounts and a new transmission.

It'll bolt up to our tranny, but it probably wont last long. rx7club.com has a ton of info on 20b's check it out. And it wont be anywhere near easy

Um yeah...You should do some reading up before posting again. My personal opinion is I would rebuild the renesis with Hymee's Supercharger or Mazsport Turbo.

Maybe you should read up on some geography! Austria and Australia are in fact a world apart....

You'll want a C or D code block, appears most of the A, and B code remans are usually updated with the thicker irons however(C/D). You'll need custom mounts,
different ecu, exhaust, etc. Expect a lot of custom work..

Too bad you're so far away, we have a 20B in stock and we'd love to stuff it in an 8....
