Getrag tranny? I have no idea if that would fit , but i bet it would need some modifications. That should be reliabile for a lot of hp i would think. I was looking for an alternative tranny for high horsepower applications and i think mazsport offers one that support around 450 horsepower. Its a 5 speed...and you can modify the internals to handle more power. Yeah its bolt on .

They dont check emissions here in Florida, Wich is the only thing I have to worry about. Even thought that might change, because theres a law about emissions they want to pass now. Everything else its perfect.

Swaps aren't illegal.... but being street legal is different....

So what's the deal? Are you gonna get a 20B, or was all this just talk?

Here in philly it's illegal to swap rotary engines unless the car is older then the engine itself or competition, i checked it out when i took my girl to the dmv.

and yes i am going to attemp the 20b swap, but for the time being i cant really do anything because i have some broken bones and im having some issues that i need to work out with my probation officer, school and my babymom (she tryna take my kid away and there aint no way im giving up my son to dat hoe )...

Soon hopefully but my kid comes first

I've never heard of anything like that. You're probably thinking of being street legal. As far as I know, there are no laws limiting what modifications you can do to your car..... unless you want to stay 50 state legal... aka street legal

1st off, yes I know holy major thread revival, but as a soon to be 8 owner, I'm trying to do as much research as possible.

2nd: Back when I had my FC I did a good amount of research, and a small amount of work to both these engines. In my opinion the 13bt-re is the way to go. The intake ports on this thing ar gigantic, there used to be a picture on the FC forum comparing them to the standard size intake ports on the Wankel engine and the diffrence is amazing. From what I've read/been told Mazda actually installed a form of restrictor plate in the exhaust to lower the HP numbers because they were close to out performing the 20b motor. If you're gonna spend the money on the swap to me the RE motor is the way to go, I've read about people useing this motor and removing the exhaust restrictor plate and simply uping the boost a little bit to pass the 20b numbers. Of course don't take my word for it, check out www.teamfc3s.org/forum they have plenty on this topic there.
Ryan

P.S. And before you ask how I've worked on these engines, I had a close friend who owned a company importing RX motors out of Japan abd had at least three of each in stock at all times. Damn I miss going down to his shop

I have done plenty of both swaps and 13b-re isnt in the same league as a turbo 20B. We do close to 600 RWHP at 15 lbs of boost on a 20B with pump gas. Not saying the 13B-RE isnt a good upgrade because it is a lot cheaper but in terms of power there is no substitute for more displacement.

^^ Really not so bad, I had to put up with kamikaze Lancer "EX" not EVO and those little modded 1.3 litre K-Class vehicle that loves taking all 3 lanes in straight line just to harass or tailgate me.
