for those wondering, sadly this is not true but the S1 connectors are a generic blade style so radio shack here I come!

My apology for being wrong, but I obviously am. Could have sworn other people who did the swap confirmed this. Can you use the S1 trans neutral and reverse switches in the S2 trans?

I dont think so. not sure if anyone has tried it before??? on a side note I finished the conversion late last night and put 10 miles on it before concluding everything was done right and drove out of state to a drift event to beat the hell out of it and drove all the way back :D I highly recommend the S2 trans swap to anyone on the fence about it. thing feels soo much more solid than the s1 trans. the OEM s2 shifter is a bit of a longer throw tho. didn't have time to install my AF SS for it last night so hopefully that helps that very minor issue.

You would need to compare the switches between them

get the syncro saver--it really does help --even in the s2 trans. I actually preferred the oem shifter after installing one.

But of course the shifters are not interchangeable lol glad someone clarified that I'm so getting a syncro saver.. The shifter rod lenghts should be the same or very similar, If the spring cup area can be hacked and removed, maybe it can be frankensteined into the cheap s2 ebay shifter, might be worth a try for the hell of it..
