**Another Reason why K&N SUCKS!**
So I opened the hood to check/add oil, and upon inspection of the crap intake kit I got maybe 8000 miles ago I see this...(see pics)
I called K&N and they said that there is nothing they can do since I dont have the original receipt or box. Basically they told me to F**K off. I will NEVER purchase another product from them again....EVER
I appologize for being harsh...but i am raging!

Mine did the same thing. It broke off in the exact same spot. Sucks too b/c I cant get it replaced either nor can I find anyone to fix it. Oh well, It works just the same as it did with it on. The thing doesnt move w/o the bracket thing so I just let mine be.

I will bet that a lot have done this. If you look carefully and the bracket , it comes to a point at the end thats welded. This means that there is less material to weld at the point where there should be more. Friggin idiots

Find someone with a TIG welder who can fix it. If you want to get creative, you can make your own much stronger mounting point from a muffler clamp and some angle iron.

I think it'd be funny if we had a polled thread where it could have options like "I will never purchase anything from k&n again", and so on. Just so it could be like "wow 300 people won't purchase from us cause we don't respect our customers" i dunno just a thought
Or have a ranking of companies like best to worst. So it'd be like Racing Beat and Richard Paul at the top and then waaaaay down the list it has k&n.

I don't know about their intake setup--but I have used the drop in's as replacement filters in everyone of my cars and have had absolutely no problems. I've heard some folks post all kinds of links on here about "how K&N sucks here is the proof" but its all bullshit to me as I've used them a long time without any complaints.

Response from K&N
I just sent off a quick e-mail to K&N to try to help fix the problem and got this response.
K&N products like the Typhoon, FIPK, and replacement filters are covered under our 10-year warranty. All the customer has to do is provide a receipt or emailed pictures. If he just emails the same pictures that were in that thread, he can get it replaced very easily. He will need to send an email to tech@knfilters.com. Customer’s can also call us direct at 1-800-858-3333 to start a warranty claim. Feel free to copy this portion of my email into a thread if you feel it would help other customer’s. This is not just a policy for this individual member because he is upset. It is the same warranty policy for anyone.
