Just to let you guys know....

Racing Beat made 10 of these DR Midpipes and they're all sold out. More of them are going into production....and you have pre-order them (which is what I did).

It's nice to live in Socal....so I can just drive up to Racing Beat and pick mine up when it's finished.

Total with S&H to Cleveland (just down the street from you) was $375.

I may have a chance to put it on this weekend. I'll probably bring it up to the pre-GrandAm event up at Montrose Westside Mazda on Saturday if I don't already have it installed. Anyone going to the Rolex event the weekend after at MidOhio is more than welcome to check it out on the car.

Shall I bring some jackstands Sat. Ryan? If we are going to hang out with all these people we might as well put them to work installing your midpipe. :P

I actually thought about it but I'm not so sure jack stands keep me from being liable if something happens. And i dont know if a mazda dealership is tge best place to do somethibg that could void my warranty. Still would be fun to have a grand am team install my Midpipe.

Finally able to open mine up.

The DR RB Midpipe weighs in at just under 18lbs with bubble wrap. No idea how that compares to other midpipes (OEM cat or otherwise).

Here's pics. Click for high res.

Looks like it only has one bung (which is no big deal to me).
Definitely looks better than the MazSport, but we'll see how it sounds
That's all I care about!

I made it 2 feet tall and 2 years old. Apparantly 18lbs with a 'wide' center of gravity effs up the body mass of a 2' 2yr old something fierce.

Look at what I found arriving at home today.

I finally received the midpipe today... all shiny. I can't get a precise weight but I'm sure it's not 20 pounds, it seems to be pretty light in the 10ish maybe. Anyway, way much lighter than the stock cat.

Now the only this missing the the car to put on top of it, whichshould arrive next week. My Mazdaspeed bumber was hit by a curb!!! Damn curb And just to help me, Mazda Canada raised the price of the bumper from 1500$ to 2620$... nonsense.

Sound test

Here is the sound test I did few minutes ago.

[EMBED]<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NuRRJAGYOBU&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NuRRJAGYOBU&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>[/EMBED]

I asked my 8 years old daughter to help me out with this so forgive her for the shaky camera.

The smell is not bad at all, the smoke is almost non existant and the sound is almost stock, just maybe 2db louder with a deeper tone.

So far I love it, and it was really easy to install.

I can't wait to test it on the road.
