Thank you! Thank you! :)

I vote we call it the wanderer. It always seems to find cool backroads.

Agent of Chaos 06-11-2007 07:52 PM

PinkFlea, http://www.rx8strakes.com has the third Break Light masks if you don't want to make your own. Plus they have primer Fender Strakes, so you can paint them pink right out of the box:)

Pink Flea 06-11-2007 10:03 PM

Awww, thanks! I sent Steven out today to get the transparency paper but they didnt have any... I got the template though.. He will be working on that project for me this week... Looks like Im gonna shoot for the 3rd Saturday in July for everyone to come down to the beach. Figure we could all hit the ferry, (let the cars go for a swim) and drive back over from Southport, some good backroads through there.

Agent of Chaos 06-11-2007 11:48 PM

One bit of advice, when you do make one, print out at least two and double it up in the brake light (there's plenty of room). Makes it more prominent.

Pink Flea 06-12-2007 12:18 AM

Will do. Thanks for all to good info.. Im gonna drive Steven crazy with all the stuff I keep having him do for my car, and he dosent even get to drive her, HAHA

mrthundercleese 06-12-2007 06:20 AM

Third weekend in July works for me.

Wing5 06-13-2007 01:05 AM

Hey all!
There aren't any meets in the Durham area this weekend are there? In town for a wedding and visiting cousins :D:

I8U 06-13-2007 03:15 PM

^Sorry man, we, as in the RRDI, don't have anything planned.

Wing5 06-14-2007 04:04 AM

That's kool, wouldn't have my 8 with me anyways so no biggie. How's the rotary/8 community out here?

RX8-Raider 06-24-2007 09:25 PM

I'm from down in Rockingham. Little over an hour to Fayetteville and about 2 hours to Raleigh. I have a 04' Sunlight Silver. Saw a Copper Red Shinka in Fayetteville over the weekend with the license plate "Renesis" wonder if they're on the board here or if anyone here from the 'Ville have seen it around.

hough2696 06-25-2007 07:14 AM

Haven't seen the shinka yet, I would love to though.....

Pink Flea 06-25-2007 12:51 PM

Havent seen it... I bet you stand out there in Rockingham with the 8, I cant imagine there are alot of them around there.

TopGear8 07-14-2007 12:53 PM

That answers that question  Just poking fun. Listen to I8U :).

We're heading down to the beach this weekend if you want to join us and stretch her legs a bit. Departing Walmart on New Bern Ave. at no later than 9.

I like it when a bunch of people show to things. Makes it feel more like a real club and less like a group of crazy car people :).

RX8-Raider 07-29-2007 03:55 AM

Can anyone in the area recommend a good place to get Tein S-Techs installed? I'd prefer the install cost be less than $300 if at all possible!!! Thanks!

1RedHot84Me 07-31-2007 09:08 AM

Near Winston Salem

Just got my 8 two weeks ago...

2005 Red with grand touring...black/red leather seats..love it!:)

On the test drive I hit a tire tread and tore up the black plastic stuff under the bottom of the car...but at least I didn't put any dents in it or hurt anybody!

hough2696 07-31-2007 09:15 AM

Congrats, enjoy the ride!!

how fast do you get up to thru there? on my r1 i get to the end of fourth gear (roughly 140's) before i drop to third to go over the hill under the bridge. Just curious as a comparison. Also how fast do you get down the straight by the tree? Last year I saw 173 on my bike thru there. after the speedo correction i was going about 162 or so

I8U 08-14-2007 02:49 PM

These guys were hitting about 140-150 just before the bridge. And in the back stretch they were topping out about 185.

I am assuming that you are talking about the back stretch that connects the north and south course. I was curious about on the north course by the oak tree at the start finish line.

luckz88 08-15-2007 01:44 PM

are any of you guys going to nopi next month?

Honestly, I have no idea of what oak tree you speak of. The only one I know is in the south course...the start/finish line is up near the north paddock area and I don't remember seeing trees there.

Zack and fellow North Carolinians, "GINX" here, Havelock, NC. I am stationed out here on the East Coast of NC at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. There are about 7 or 8 RX8s that I past and "honk" at on a regular basis around here. I am not sure as to how many of t hem are actual members on this site.

I can be reached at drginx@hotmail.com if you need to contact me or leave me a message here on site. It would be nice if we could meet up somewhere in the area and just hang out and "chit chat" have a great time. I drive a Black Unmodified Grand Touring '06.

Let the "party" begin!

TopGear8 09-01-2007 03:10 PM

Hey man you should hook up with the Charlotte crew... Charlotte RX-8 Club

Also, if you're ever in the Raleigh area hit my crew up...North Carolina Rotaries

And another shameless plug for a great event:

Mazda Days is returning to GT LIVE at Virginia International Raceway October 6th and 7th 2007.

The NC Rotaries car club is preparing to make this the best Mazda meet on the east cost. To do that we need LOTS AND LOTS of Mazda cars to show up. We will have a parking area in the paddock to show our cars again this year and we hope to have a huge turnout! Follow this link for registration, fill out the form and choose Mazda Days to have a parking pass waiting for you at the VIR gates. Also, this year we have discounts! You can use the promo code 'WIBOB' when buying your tickets online to get you $5 off a weekend pass, or $2 off a one day pass. Motorsports at a discount... mmmm mmmm good. The code is multi use, so feel free to distribute it as you wish.

GT LIVE has a blockbuster content lineup planned. Grand Am will be back with hot sports car racing during two six hour endurance races and this year you'll be able to see Tarzan Yamada take the wheel of an ICY/Phoenix Racing Subaru Legacy 2.5GT spec.B to battle it out with the US boys. Redline Time Attack will make its debut at VIR and we anticipate a huge car count. On the drift side, the Falken Tire Drift team will do pro demos and give rides and US Drift will thrill us with another competition. Our Rally-X will expand a bit thanks to some support from Subaru and the XDL US Stunt Riding Championship returns. As always, there are tons of ways to get involved in GT LIVE, starting with go karts, rides in the GT Sim Race, the aforementioned drift rides, lap time in your own car in Tarzan's Lap Battle and last but not least, one of our many meets.
