I had a great time as well. The food was fantastic. Hopefully we can get together more often, and eventually have better attendance.

Gary, great drive route. Amazingly, the macaroni salad was still cool when I got home. Didn't mean to push you on that ramp, the tire barking was unintentional.

jph4219, I have your macaroni salad, bowl, and big spoon (not sure what it's official name is). I'll bring it to the next meet so you can pick it up (minus the macaroni salad.. it would probably be bad by that time :) ).

Time to get that beach meet together!

Last few. I'm not sure whose car is whose, so I hope I didn't miss any. Sorry, but if you drove a Miata or a Neon there, I didn't take your picture. I also didn't get any shots of actual people... oh well.

I8U 06-10-2007 06:07 PM

Nice pics John! Oh and thank you for calling the SRT for what it is...A NEON!!! I like your setup...I'm putting on my Mazdaspeed kit now and the new exhaust will be here in less than a month and hopefully the rollcage and coilovers soon after that!!! And I'm trying to save for a Pettit SC!

My photo's are online. I'm too lazy to link any of them here so click and be merry!

Those are pretty good shots. I don't know if you intentionally took so many pictures of the bathroom and bathroom signs, but it had me laughing.

I8U 06-10-2007 07:10 PM

Great pics Bobby! Keri liked her pic!!! HAHA

I8U 06-10-2007 07:12 PM

This is being cross posted from the 7 forum from us RRDI regulars, as written by Phil (darktritium):

Hey guys,

I'd like to first off say that we (the regulars) really appreciate the effort made by everyone to make it out to our grill out. I'd also like to say that the effort put into making the dishes and desserts is greatly appreciated; everything was so nice!

I apologize if we didn't seem very open to you guys; I don't know why that happened. I'm sorry if you guys felt a bit out of place and I hope that next time we'll mingle more. We'll have the grill out planned a little better (i.e. if someone is bringing hot dogs, he/she should also bring buns for the hot dogs too.)

For the next gathering like this, we will have a boombox (a REAL one) for music and maybe some other things.

Your effort made to come to our event was greatly appreciated. We hope to see you at our next event!

Sincerely,

RRDI

You were pushing me, I always like hauling ass(as as much as an auto can) plus wanted to blow by that SUV who thought he could gun it also.

The ride was pretty sweet, even found a couple good roads to remember when designing r^3( the Raleigh Rally Route).

Awesome pics NoTears316 and MrThunderClease

Haha yeah they were intentional. Nic's wife Keri asked "Are there any bathrooms at this place?" on Saturday night and I originally replied that she would have to "go in the woods and be sure not to grab the poison ivy". I felt obligated to take a bunch of photo's of the bathroom anyway .

Good post. Also, if we do it at Falls Lake again someone should go early and scout out an unreserved spot and then relay the information to the people at the gate so they can direct the people coming in. That way, less people will be lost.

That's awesome! We could have used that map on our way back to Fayetteville. I'm not pointing any fingers, but after a u-turn and taking a wrong exit... I took the lead. :rollingla

mrthundercleese 06-10-2007 07:45 PM

^^ well there were only two of you heading back that way sooo I think we know where that finger wasn't pointed.... :rollingla

To fill the gap even more, here is the 'oh-noes! you can't park there' killboy photo (click me).

Turbo II 06-10-2007 07:56 PM

Great pics! Had fun guys, great to meet all the 8 crowd! Can't wait to do it again and thanks for everyone coming.

Bobby, oh noes is right!!! He lost it on that video I posted a page back. Was trying to follow the camera car when we made that run. Happened right after the lookout.

Hello Raleigh

Hello Raleigh. Happiness is no front license plate! Moved from NJ looking for mazda dealer in Raleigh area.

Thanks for the help.

mrthundercleese 06-10-2007 08:19 PM

^^ You want Capital Mazda in Cary. Best Mazda dealer in the area.

GoT 1 - 2 06-10-2007 08:21 PM

Thank you

Turbo II 06-10-2007 08:26 PM

Unless you're on a first name basis with a couple of the guys at Southern States like I am Bobby is completely right. That's a good shop and parts department to go to.

But those U-turns and missed exits can lead to some interesting places:)

It was a pleasure meeting everyone yesterday. Good food and good people beat any day. Thanks for making us feel at home and can't wait for the next meeing.

I'm glad you like them. Janna already has hers on. It's pretty simple to install, let me know if you need help though.

NoTears316 06-11-2007 09:40 AM

I'm still having a little trouble matching up names with cars and screen names. Obviously I know Rachael and Janna. I know mrthundercleese, Agent of Chaos, Turbo II, and 04BB8 (as in, I could point to them in a crowd, but still not sure of their actual names). But everyone else, I'm still having trouble putting faces, names, and cars together. I think jph4219 was the guy sitting next to me with his wife (and the really dirty engine bay, lol), but I'm not sure. If someone could perhaps make a list or something, that would be cool.

I8U 06-11-2007 10:34 AM

mrthundercleese-Bobby
Agent of Chaos-Gary
Turbo II-Greg
04BB8-Matt
darktritium- Phil white 2nd Gen
I8U- Nic (couldn't make it, but was there in spirit)

jph4219 06-11-2007 10:37 AM

yeah that was my wife and myself with the dirty engine bay (next time i'm gonna power wash and clean it up real good), I shoulda thought more about opening that hood but we were out of town the previous two days and Saturday night well......I still felt I was moving a bit slow at the park but a good time was had and thougt the regulars made us feel at home. Thanks to all!

Paul & Beth

NoTears316 06-11-2007 11:20 AM

I'm not trying to give you a hard time over that, it's just how I remember you, lol. Okay, so now I know. Who was the guy with the Miata? There was also a couple that showed up late, the Neon driver (I think was the redhead female), and 2 younger guys that came in late. Are any of them members? I also picked up from the 7 board that AntiVenom7 was the FD owner.

I8U 06-11-2007 11:24 AM

The guy in the miata was Joey, he has an FB but it needs some work, the neon guy was David and his fiance Christina, she has an FC but doing work to it and he just blew up his FB at the DGRR. Joey's SN is JKM, Christina's SN is PerkyStina, Josh is the FD owner.

Pink Flea 06-11-2007 11:37 AM

Im kinda lost with the names too but I think Im figuring it out. My B-day was 2 weeks ago so I guess the corners are my late present. I had a great time yesterday and cant wait to do it again..... Im going to plan that beach meet too. Does everyone want to do it sometime next month? I can try to get one of the gazebos @ Ft. Fisher... I will warn everyone, there are not alot of backroads around here to have alot of fun on but I will look around.

RX82 06-11-2007 11:56 AM

I saw a blue 8 on post today with a huge dent in the roof. Is that car belong to anyone on here? It was a nice looking 8 just looked like some one hit the roof with a bat.

Pink Flea 06-11-2007 12:53 PM

Hey Rachael.. You think your gonna make it to the BOTD? Im gonna go ahead and register but wanted to see if you wanted to go in on the lodging before I reserve a 1 bedroom.

mrthundercleese 06-11-2007 07:33 PM

OOOO intro's... slick.

http://lh5.google.com/image/blwillia...0/DSC06399.JPG

Bobby <-- That's me.
Rose <-- That's my car.
Jill <-- That's my fiancee (taking photo)
Tree <-- I really hate that tree...

Janna, I'm in for a beach meet in July. Don't sweat the backroads... We can just cut Chaos loose and they just find him.
