Okay, guess that answers my question. Second question, is there anyone that might be interested in meeting once a month to get something started? :rolleyes:

Here is a suggestion. I meet with the East Side Miata club every Wed at the Sonics on Hillsborough. I go because we also have a Miata, and we meet after work. So I am the only lonely RX-8 (honorary member) there.

I am not into the street racing scene here (not knockin' it), but I do enjoy my car. If anyone is interested in meeting either you can respond to this thread, or stop by Sonics on a Wed after work and we can meet. Just a thought, any feedback would be appreciated.

Actually a few of us were talking and we wanted to do a regular (first Sat. every month) Central FL meet. The next one would actually be in Tampa and we would rotate between somewhere around the CFL area to facilitate everyone's location. If you want to set something up I already know there's 3 or 4 of us that would roll out.

yeah im up for doing it near tampa and orlando, and maby even out at the east coast daytona area.

swaping locations, and stuff.

I am in....now that I am an owner again. I wanted to make the August meet but with hurricanes etc didnt. Doesnt have to be an elaborate meet...just kinda center it around something simple.

So what about Nov 5th? Would everyone be down for a drive/meet?

I get off work at 4pm, plus i dont want to drive in traffic, if i can avoid it...what time would we need to leave, i have gone to the miata meet out in brandon a few times, it took about 1.25 hrs to drive it, all on I4.

The orlando people could meet up and head down together.

from south orlando to east tampa is about an hour...we should shoot for like 8pm dinner so we can slip by after rush hour

epi, i dunno if I told you this already, but it just came to mind : if you ever want your windows tinted legal or illegal, whatever % you want, the guy that did mine does it for 120, i priced differt places and that seemed pretty good. just FYI

This will be a fun meet, looking forward to it.

Look at the place they have a beer sample menu, including one beer sampler with 34 1/4 pint samples of beer on it, sounds interesting.

Sounds ok to me. You may want to think about having it at a different time, traffic around there @ Friday rush hour SUCKS. Let me know what the final verdict is. Thanks !

Nov 4 is good here too. Just another suggestion for restaurants - what about Quaker Steak and Lube? Cool automotive-themed place that's very open to car shows. If you guys don't feel like switching up plans, I'm down the meeting at the other place. Just throwing it out there. :D

Meeting on Idrive is fine with me, There is a chevron right near the freeway on/off ramp, we could meet there, gas up if needed, grab soda/snacks whatever and head out.

We still got a month to plan this, but Im just throwing that out there.

Ah, thanks for the help, but I'm actually coming from Orlando. I'm only in Sarasota when I'm home from school. I'll see you guys there though.

Of course, the last RX-8 meet I attended took 14 hours to drive to, but it was at the Tail of the Dragon, so it was WORTH IT!

No. Further up in the post Geoff said there was a Chevron at the corner of Sand Lake and I4. Regardless of what it is, I doubt you could miss 4 or 5 rx8's sitting in the parking lot.

the tally is now one bent rim and two ruined tires...both rims may be cracked, but ill have to get them off to see...too hurt to work on it now :(

There will be an ORLANDO caravan leaving at 7pm from the corner of I4 and Sand Lake Road (right by I-Drive) at the Chevron Gas Station

Mantis picked the resturante, so maby he made res. doenst really matter, im happy getting a drink and the bar and just shootin-the-shit with everyone till we get a table. The parking spots are a good idea, maby if your just down the street you can swing by there and talk to the MGR about our plan, and maby get them to block off some spots.

Im bringing 1 other person with me, and I think epi is coming with rhawb, so we will have at least 2 more people than cars. anyone else brining someone?

Also what time FOR SURE are we meeting at the resturante, I thought it was 8pm?
We need to plan that so the orlando caravan knows what time to leave, about 1-1.5 hrs befor that, I thought our plan was to leave orlando around 7pm

I didn't make reservations. But, this is a fairly new restaraunt and there is plenty of room outside and in as well as parking. I actually live down the street from this place so I can get there anytime to meet. It sounds like the general meet time is 8pm.

I will call the rest. and see if they will reserve us some good lot spots up front so we can see our cars. You never know. So how about I make a reservation for about 16 and at 8:30 so we can meet out front and talk a bit first?


So Tremor is local. Anyone else not coming from Orlando that might want to meet earlier? I can be there anytime after 6:30, but I think the table reservation should be at 8:30 so we can flag down other people for the parking spots (if that will work out). I am open for anything.
