I called Barley Hoppers to make sure our reservation still stood and told her that there may be more people. She said no problem and has moved us to the outside porch on the right side of the front door. The whole porch will be ours...... :ylsuper:

I am intchin' for a Guinness! Bless the gods, it's finally Friday.......If you Orlando people show up late, I may finish the keg off myself.... :bootyshak

epitrochoid 11-04-2005 12:34 PM

if we drink from cans we can put them to good use!

jwitzer 11-04-2005 12:36 PM

Since I'll be there early as well, just order the keg and get two straws...

Let's hope it cools of considerably before tonight.

jwitzer 11-04-2005 12:41 PM

epitrochoid,

Was the Guinness can large enough to hold all the oil blow-by from removing the line from the intake? I needed a quart old container for a full-tank session at Sebring.

I assume you were having the same oil seepage problem at the gasket near the MAP and resulting oil stain on the hood insulation...

Classy mod, though!

Guinness cans are better than bottles (widget-wise) but nothing beats a good pour. Let's hope they know how to pour or teach them if they don't...

See you tonight!

Mantis 11-04-2005 01:21 PM

They do.....but I went to that Buffalo Wings place and they scooped the foam off!!!

thanks, these guys do good work, and they will do the work I want (5 foot rule) for an amazing price, but being that they give me a good deal, sometimes they have to work me in around the other cars, and this time they didnt get a chance to paint it....so It will get done next week, not a big deal...just kinda makes you mad when the 1 thing you count on someone else to do doesnt get done.... :Freak_ani

Mantis 11-04-2005 03:23 PM

FD Rey 11-04-2005 05:05 PM

I won't be able to make it. I got stuff going on over here at home and I won't be able to get away. Maybe next time guys. Hopefully I'll know more in advance so I can make it.

Rx8honey 11-05-2005 09:58 AM

Digital_Damage 11-05-2005 10:20 AM

It was nice to meet everyone :)

Rhawb 11-05-2005 10:33 AM

That was a great meet, lots of cool new (to me) people. Hope we can all get together more often!

Now to get next month's set up :) I think Danny wanted to do something in or near Kissimmee, so maybe we'll do another Race Rock meet or something similar. I'm open to suggestions if you've got any!

Rx8honey 11-05-2005 11:11 AM

Let's get the date going first. How does December 3rd sounds to everyone? I am trying to stay away from the Friday night traffic if I can. ;)

I'll move this to the Monthly meet thread when the date is settled.

Danny 11-05-2005 04:30 PM

Yea last night was a blast. Prolly we could do a run in Dec. like we did before the rotor meet (to Cocoa through lake pikett). You would have loved it. I was the slowest that night. Epi and KY kicked azz :worship:

Hopefully Epi will have his car done by then.
Thoughts?

jwitzer 11-05-2005 07:41 PM

One idea for a more convenient location discussed last night was Lakeland. There is a restaurant downtown called Harry's that also has a front patio that faces streetside parking and the food is fantastic (New Orleans style).

Race Rock is an acceptable second choice for me.

Good to see all of you there last night.

Congrats and thanks to Mantis for organizing such a successful meet!

Mantis 11-05-2005 08:36 PM

Well guys, you know it's a good meet when there are so many people that you can't see the end of the table. We really had a great time and were so surprised by the turnout (over 25 I think). I'm sorry I didn't get to meet everyone, but it was great to see so many 8s in one place.....

We are defiantely down for a meet next month. Or, if anyone is interested we could get a tech session together if there are any mods out there that someone may want to share.......or need help with......

I enjoyed seeing the Veilside and Mazdaspeed kits live.....very nice. Now it will be funny trying to match everyone's name to their screen names........ :Freak_ani

Still bummed about the Guinness being out........

Glad to have met fellow enthusiasts....... :101384_l:

Rhawb 11-06-2005 11:08 PM

Alright guys, 12/3 is good for me as of right now. Now to pick the location - I'm partial to Race Rock due to its location and how open they are to meets but I'm open to suggestions.

evilmiata 11-07-2005 08:23 AM

Mantis 11-07-2005 09:32 AM

ok guys, starting new thread......for next meet.

KYLiquid 11-07-2005 10:10 AM

Great meet, tons of fun! Caravan back was a blast, got a few good open miles a couple times!

Ill have to make a reminder for myself to post the pictures I took, i dunno how they came out.

evilmiata 11-07-2005 01:04 PM

04 VR with red/black leather. I let Lisa take it to work this morning (she works at a Hyundai dealership) and everyone was FLIPPING out. Then I had to come pick it up and break them the real story.

Maybe its the new car, but I saw TWO speedtraps today. I haven't seen a speed trap all year!

Danny 11-07-2005 07:19 PM

congrats on your new rx-8 hope to see it on decemeber meeting braking down those gears, saying hi to everybody, u all guys take care drive safely!!

Foz'sRX8 11-08-2005 03:18 PM

Hello Central Florida!

I've been viewing your thread and hopefully, will get to a meet & greet soon.

I've had a 93 VR RX7 for 8 years; decided it was time to let her go. so I've posted her on Autotrader.

Meanwhile, My daughter just bought an '03 Mustang GT and told her salesman to look out for an RX8 for her Dad (that's me).

Well, they got one in at Ernie Haire Ford last week, so i just couldn't wait.

It's an '04 Brilliant Black GT 6 speeder w/28k miles.

So for now I am the proud owner of 2 Rotaries!

Mantis 11-09-2005 06:50 AM

Congratulations on your new rotary!! Check the Dec meet thread for more people in your area.....

Digital_Damage 11-09-2005 06:52 AM

Florida is getting quite a group together :)

Mantis 11-09-2005 03:11 PM

FYI, for any RX-8 in the Tampa area interested.....

I go to the East Side Miatas of Tampa Bay's wed nite meets to meet my husband. I am the only loney RX-8 there and it is a really nice quiet spot to meet. It is held every Wed at the Sonics on Hillsborough and I usually get there by 6. It is a Miata club (my husband), but there is enough room if anyone wants to stop by to meet. Bring tums if you plan on eating......sorry about the late notice.....

Mantis 11-10-2005 06:58 AM

Nice meeting you Foz, bummer you had to go so early. That group usually shows after 6pm. You missed Digital damage who came later. There is always next week...

Foz'sRX8 11-10-2005 07:20 AM

I'll try to stop by next week.......maybe have my 7.

Hope to hang out for awhile, maybe my bride can meet up with the 8 as well.

I'd like to get a looksee at the Turbo Miata as well.

Mantis 11-10-2005 08:06 AM

i think the going joke in that group now is that there is only one miata that isnt FI. They all have turbos and superchargers now, and they are all different brands so it is pretty interesting for conversations.....
