Guys what happened? I stopped by like at 9 pm and only saw one red RX-8 parked near the entrance. I didn't see anyone else in the back side execpt for some low rider pick up trucks. I got out of work early too! Did I just get there too late?

theres a meet monday nights in delray @ atlantic and military its 100% legal meet. being that i have permision from the property owners of zios (sub shop) it first started out as just my weekly car club meeting ( ill society fl. c.c.) but every one should bring the 8s down there i have a red 8 6 spd with a few mods and more in progress...

 

How late are you guys out there? I work in boynton (1 mile S. of woolbright & congress), but I don't get out till about 11:15-11:30 at the earliest.

I've been modding my motorcycle and haven't touched my 8. I guess it's cause I have not even gotten into what can be done....yet

I know this thread is dead but thought I'd throw it out there, because I wave too and havent had a single one in return. I'm a black 8 in Loxahatchee (occasionally seen with a thin layer of white sand). I work in Boca though. Hopefully soon SOMEONE will wave back.

 

I used to live in loxahatchee. 82nd St and Grapeview. Nobody waves at me either.

Anybody planning for a meet this Memorial weekend? I live in western Lake Worth and work in Royal Palm Beach.

 

I just want you to know that I've owned the RX-8 since August 2003, and not one single driver I've ever seen in another RX-8 has EVER waved back at me. So I don't even bother anymore. Can't really be surprised in a greedy, conceited area like South Florida. Maybe I just look too threatening.

 

Same experience here, I usually blink my highbeams or nod, not response so far. Jerks!!! (no offense Jerky :D)

 

WHat area in royal palm? I ALWAYS see an RX-8 or two at Target, other than that i dont see them anywhere in royal palm.

 

I live in Aventura and so far I haven't seen many 8's around, I drive almost every day to Mia Airport (work around there) but never seen another 8.

Anyway, when I see one I change lights or something and so far... no response either!!

I wave and jump out of my car all the time, and no responce from them

 

I live in north West Palm and see the occasional 8 on the road. Most people don't even give you the nod. Depressing. . .

I had a great conversation with an 8 owner who is on here. I forgot the name but he drives a red 8 and droped his gearbox at morroso once.

I'm in the blue 8 with the dj sticker in the window. I always wave, we are distinct.

Jon, you left your tranny @ Morroso???? Is that when you changed your flywheel? Hhhhmmm... did you get at least one run in? :D

 

I was down there last weekend. Saw a few 8's. I was looking to see if someone would wave.. hard to tell with the tint. Saw one in north Miami beach, looked green maybe?

 

Actually, the flywheel was changed before that, because about a month before moroso a friend was driving and he missed a 1-2 shift so bad it broke the fork. The tranny was overhauled and I had the flywheel installed then. The moroso incedent was a shattered bearing retainer. There's old posts on here from both incedents. The latter one with pic goodness. :D

And yes, I did get one run in. 15.4 @ 94. When you consider I spent all of first gear hopping and broke my tranny doing so, I guess it's not so bad.
