Guess I'm gonna have to find a nice quiet road and do some data logging.

 

hehe. I just got the CANScan software. As soon as I get a laptop I'm gonna have TONS of data for everyone.

 

Maybe we can hook up next weekend and comapre? I got the laptop and am gonna be logging from my car. If I can I'll head out later today and do a couple first gear WOT logs to get started on.

 

What scanning tool and software did you get ? I am thinking of getting one for fun and also to start writing my own software. The harrison one does come with help for programmers and seems to be used quite a bit. Is that the one you are using ?

Yeah, I have the canzoomer modified canscan. Software has been a little bit bitchy to be honest, but I am getting the hang of it. Also has a full open SDK so if your any good, seams to be pretty easy to roll your own stuff.

 

Software development is my main business so that shouldnt be a problem.

What do you get extra with the canzoomer version and whats the diff in price. Hardware i guess is exactly the same and you still get the original software also ?

I have the pure harrison version. It won't run on my girlfriend's laptop for some reason. Get a double pop-up saying error#76: path not found. Anyone know where I can find a cheap laptop? Doesn't matter how old really, just something to run the canscan and that's it.

 

check overstock.com. At times they sell decent older lappys for a few bucks. Ebay of course another choice. Also check fatwallet.com and anandtech.com
