This is not the first time SOFLA has posted late about his meets. As a matter of fact it appears to be a pattern of his. Why? I don't know. I have yet to figure it out. All I can say is that I hope in the future he gives folks ample notice. It's just common courtesy. I for one find it a bit disconcerting that he's the one chosen to "organize" these meets.

Hey "preacher" here's an idea. Maybe since your the "founder" of your club you could delegate some authority and put some one else in charge of posting info about the meets. Just an idea.

I've got no issue with you, yet you insult me with your remarks. It seems rather silly to me that you would bash me for being aggressive and then talk **** to "put me in my place."

I'm interested about this challenge. If I do come to Gainesville how will we duke it out? Scrabble? Uno? boxing gloves? ping-pong?

It's really not very complicated at all.

And until any of ya'll try to organize a meet...i dont want to hear any bitching. It's a lot harder than you guys would think. I had a LOT of help when i did one a couple years back...You can ask Raz..it's not exactly an easy task...forgive him for not doing it on time..Join another rx8 forum if you want more up-to-date crap..

hell, i hardly even check this section until recently...I depend on phone calls about it..

 

aww....in 20,000 years we're all gonna be dust anyways. I say we all just make the meets we can, not fret over the meets we missed, and enjoy the company of those we're able to hook up with on occasions.

There's NOBODY that I've met at ANY of the meets I've attended, who didn't have SOME qualities to share as a person and contribute to random conversations at one point or another.

Life is good......flow with it......and try not to make it too complicated.

 

This is my second time so i hardly think that would be a pattern... so as of today I will let you all know what is in the works for the next one...

The Orlando Meet was CENFLA RX CLUB's gig... I got a PM from one of your fellow RX8 owners whose forum name is 'The 8th Element" about having posted in three separate threads about this meet. All I did was just try to follow up on it by starting a new thread since he hadnt .. i know it was short notice on my part but i thought The 8th Element had accomplished in getting the word out with his posts... but it seems no one on that thread read their notifications.

In any case I will do better about informing.. this is the idea... of having one big meet in a midway point... lets say near West Palm Beach which is 1.50 hours away from Miami...

What do you think of a big BBQ at a park where we can all play Softball amongs the teams..

At the same time ... we can have food, sodas, contests, car show, parts swap, apparel sales (Rotary minded), etc etc etc

How about in the month of June... that would give us two months to plan it...

These are the clubs that would participate that I know of and there may be others...

SOFLA RX CLUB
Rotor7even
WEST FLA RX CLUB
OLD SCHOOL ROTARY CLUB

So it will be all about the rotary ( R100, RX2, RX3, COSMO, RX7. RX8, RX MIATAS) anything else with a Rotary... I believe that there is a guy in Orlando that has a Suzuki Samurai w/ a 13B

Personally, I don't see how West Palm Beach would be considered "MID-WAY". It's 70 miles from Miami and 285 miles from Jacksonville and 670 miles from Pensacola. How is that mid-way? Sounds more like a south Florida event. Just curious.....

Pensacola is a bit extreme... and most of the rotary owners are in Orlando, Tampa and Miami... Orlando area has about 96+ rotary owners, Tampa has about 50 ? or so unless there are more that i dont know about ... Miami area has 108 Rotary owners.

If you have a suggestion of a place that is closer in the middle between Orlando & Miami then i would like to know...

 

I don't know where you get your numbers. You have a shitload of RX* drivers in north Florida. Besides, I was just making an idle observation. You can have your meet wherever you want.

Is not just my meet... I check the forums on a daily basis and i dont see that many that actually post... you and a handful of others are the only ones that i see any activity from... I am trying to reach out to everyone and all the clubs in Florida about having one large meet with all the clubs combined... i think it would be great.. dont you ?

Since you know the RX drivers in North Florida can you reach them.... do you know their forum names ? I dont want to do this all by myself... its a lot of work for just one person.

I personally, wouldn't attend, but know there are plenty of rotor heads up in this area (Jacksonville) that may.

I was just curious how you came up with a midway point of WPB.

Just to clarify. The Flrx8club.net is statewide. It is focused where ever the interest is. If there are a bunch of RX8s in Miami that want to get a meet together, they are welcome to use the site to post their meet and get to know each other better.

Currently we have the most activity in Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville pulling in strong. We have weekly meets in Tampa, Orlando and Jax as well. That site is just a catalyst to get enthusiasts together. If you are in Orlando, check the weekly meets section and post to show or suggest another location for the following meet. There is no need to see separate clubs....when everything is just beginning.

There is a lot of interest in north florida that is surfacing. We plan a monthly meet in a different city to help anyone that is interested in coordinating a get together. We will be doing this in Sarasota in May, and Jacksonville in June.

I hope that helps clarify things.

I left the Orlando meet on So OBT by the Sams Club at exactly 8:04 PM and I was home in Kendall by 11:16 PM taking the Fl Turnpike... Aseras (RX8) lives in Vero Beach and he made it the the (Kendall) Miami meet in 1 hr 45 mins and Vero Beach is north of WPB... so is my info incorrect ? Vero Beach is not that far from Orlando so that is how i came to the notion that somewhere in the WPB North are would be a good midpoint.

Separate clubs... well there are... that was there before I even came into the picture... The One large meet is just that ... One large meet of all rotaries... I would like to know if you will support it or will you attend... as it is we all drive rotaries... by the way, where did you pick up the chrome letters that spell your name?

when i think of "mid-point" in FL..i think of Orlando.

Whenever Raz and I did the meet in 04, we made it in Orlando even though neither one of us live there.. It seemed like a fair place for all.
