R4L Tampa Go Kart Meet 7/25/08
Well since gas is getting a bit expensive for a drive I figured we still needed to get together and do some racing. So I have done a little bit of research and found this place http://www.tampabaygp.com/ . It looks to be a good time and is reasonably priced. www.rotary4life.com would like to invite you to join the fun

Challenge yourself or compete with your friends, partners and family in a 12 lap race. Tampa Bay Grand Prix is fully equipped with the state-of-the-art timing system OSKAR. Each lap is counted in our computerized system, the best overall lap time wins the race. At the end of each race, you will receive a sheet showing your lap times.
Check your times online, best of the week, bests of the months, and the top Pro-scores.
Juniors are welcome to Tampa Bay Grand Prix, starting from 6 years old and a minimum height of 48" to 12 years old or a maximum height of 56". They can ride a Junior Karts for a 8 lap race and ride with a parent in an Adult Race of 12 laps.

Fully computerized scoreboard, timing system and multiple monitors
1/4 mile track completely surrounded by the high security TecPro barrier system
Fully organized race events for 5 to 100 people

I believe this could be a lot of legal fun and if a few of us like it enough we can start racing in the league they hold (more details later)... So on that note who is in to do this on July 25th?

My buddy and I race there every other Thursday. Have been for the past 8 months. It's a nice track. They just recently changed the track up a bit for the better. The carts hit about 40 and most have good cornering abilities. Dont go during the mid day because the tires get too hot and the karts slide. Go late evening. If i'm off i'll be there

Well we are 3 days away from this meet anyone else interested? I will be contacting the place tonight to see if we can get a group rate. I will keep you updated. We are going to try and meet at 7:30 - 8:00 pm and start driving around 8:15.

Ok guys I have found some of our options that we need to decide on by tomorrow afternoon (sorry for the delay)... ok so here goes:
option 1:
15 bucks for 12 laps plus 5 dollar license or buy 3 for 39 laps plus 5 bucks
option 2 (group rate):
mini grand prix = 10 lap qualifier and 14 lap final race 29 bucks with the 5 dollar fee waved
option 3 (group rate):
grand prix = 12 lap warm up, 12 lap qualifier, and 14 lap final race 39 bucks with the 5 dollar fee waved
what are you guys interested in?
