-We had originally put a deposit down on a car at Jim Ellis Marietta. My wife changed her mind and decided that she wanted leather (grand touring) instead of the cloth car (touring) that we had a deposit on. We found that Jim Ellis Chamblee had the same car with leather coming in. On top of this, the car with leather had a lower vin number and would be arriving sooner.
We called our salesman at Marietta and were told that it would be no problem to get the other car from Chamblee and trade them the car we had a deposit on. When the delivery time for the Chamblee car got close, we called our Marietta salesman. He acted as though we had never had the conversation about the Chamblee car! My wife was furious. He called back and told us he could not do anything because the Chamblee car was sold!
I called Jim Ellis and found out that the car in question was the only one of four Ti cars not sold! After some discussion with my wife, I gave a deposit and bought the car over the phone. Within an hour, the GM at Jim Ellis Marietta called my wife and explained that they could not do anything with Chamblee because the car had been sold, my wife told him that she had bought it that morning.
We had bought three Audi's and a Porsche from Jim Ellis over the last few years. I have owned 9 Porsches and from my recommendation, had my mother buy a Porsche Cayenne from Jim Ellis three months ago. To be blatantly lied to was both disturbingly unprofessional and entirely unnecessary.
BTW, we love the RX8.

I have owned 8 911s (3 turbos) and a Boxster. The RX8 is similar in that is has a stiff chassis, quick steering, good brakes, and likes to rev and use the gearbox. It is disimilar in that it has very good weight distribution and a few small details that could be of higher quality. For the money, I think the RX8 is just an excellent package. I hope it sells very well for Mazda and encourages them to continue to innovate in the future. My kid will be one of the few that will not be dropped off at preschool falling from the door of an SUV or other glorified 'RV' that graces our roads. Maybe there is still hope <g>...
