New to J-ville
Hey are their any RX8's that meet up in Jacksonville, FL? I just moved here two months ago and would like to talk to some fellow RX8 owners about perfomance mods and shops to go to for our rotarys and which ones to stay away from not to many import shops in Jacksonville I trust to work on my car they touch it and it falls apart! Anyways sombody let me know something and if you have a car meet sometime in the near future. Thanks.

Nice engine swap cmr333 can't wait to see it on the road so what did you do to your rotary engine? I am having performance problems my car is running too lean and losing power to the point it wants to shut off. I called Pettit Racing in south Florida and they told me to change out my ignition coils first since the need to be changed after 40,000 miles I have 70,000 on mine. Next they told me to check my O2 sensors, fuel filter and fuel pump making sure they are working fine. As you know rotary engines puts out alot of heat so the aftermarket exhaust has no heat shield to protect the sensors so that might be my problem? I am going to change out my ignition coils, O2 sensors, fuel filter, and wrap my whole exhaust and hope that will work. Do you have any suggestions? Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

well as far as most of my rotary stuff i dont have to much left, just little stuff that is in pretty good shape. i would search around this site because i know have seen and upgraded coilpack setup somewhere on here for the renesis. and as far as heatsheilds and exhaust wrap, do it. it will make things alot more tolerable in the next few months. im doing my turbo all the way out to the back with the dei wrap kit. btw what side of town u on?

I am at St Johns Plantation on Southside I am going to the Mazda dealership to get my coils since they need to be changed hopefully that will help and if not I am going back to maybe get a decarb cleaner to the engine just not sure what is wrong Mazda told me they can change out the motor since we have a extended warranty to 100,000 miles on the engine but with the mods they are not sure if it will be approved. What OEM parts do you still have? As for the wrap I might wait until Mazda checks it out.

well if you wanna try to locate coils find them and i can put them on for you for alot less than a dealer would. as far as your newfound waranty your car better be 100% stock or have mazdaspeed parts on it before you take it to tom bush and try to get a new engine. they will look for any excuse what so ever to not get you a new engine they had alot of those when i went in for waranty work.
