Now about that meetup. (Page 5 Snipe!)
I know I want to eventually upgrade the exhaust system, and there's only so much you can get from Youtube videos with comparisons to their sounds/feelings. I really wish BHR would come out with a complete kit, based on their midpipe, I think they capture the 8's real spirit.
At least at a meetup if others have aftermarket exhaust systems I could make a more informed decision.

I definitely agree there needs to be more meets. I also noticed sphere said he wanted to upgrade his shifter. I just put the Axial S2 in my car and I honestly wish I would of saved my $300 for other mods. Not that much of a difference from stock in my opinion.

Yes the Axial shifter is the one I plan to get eventually. I have no problem with shifting, but there are very noticeable 'bumps' between each gear. Going from 4th to 5th and then into 6th gear are also very temperamental, but I've gotten used to how 5th and 6th act.
Then there's reverse, which gave me some issues for the first or second day, but I've learned that the easiest way is to depress the shifter with some minor force and pushing it far over.
With what I've read about the Axial, it eliminates most of the bumping between each gear and makes the final gears and rev much more fluid.
The Axial is definitely NOT on the top of my must-do list, but it's definitely on the list a bit further down. My current absolute top priority right now is a set of BHR coils. After that I'm still debating. I adore the Rx8's lines and modeling, so I'm not overly worried about changing that, with the exception of adding a kit that accentuates it's natural lines more, such as a KD Burnout kit or similar. And any body mods would be second or tertiary priorities as I'm most concerned with underhood performance and maintenance above all else.
I may go with a BHR midpipe after the coils, eliminating the cat conv., or I may look into a Cobb AP. I eventually want a full BHR exhaust, so I may have to pester Charles to finish the headers and begin work on the catback. The other mod at the top of my list is a Sohn adapter too, however my problem with that is that my 8 is still under warranty until Feb '15. Although I'm just as likely to have warranty issues by changing out the coils, so I should just be prepared to change things back around should I need to bring it into the dealership. In fact, the Sohn adapter may be done before the coils, considering it's only $150~ all done. And there's really no point messing with the air intake since stock does an amazing job, besides adding the RB ram.
So for me it's...
1. Coils (BHR)
2. Sohn
3. Exhaust (BHR Midpipe to start)
4. RB Air Ram to stock air housing.
5. REmedy Water Pump+Therm. (After winter)
6. Cobb AP
7. Axial Shifter
-- Body - KD Burnout, Bottomline, or Evo-R Front+side skirts somewhere along the way.

My trans seemed a little off to me when I got my car to. So I changed the fluid and then put the shifter in with the hopes it would correct whatever issues I was having. I feel my issues were because I just didn't take time to get readjusted to driving a manual trans again. But its in the shop now getting new synchros and bearing along with ACT prolite flywheel and counterweight. Doing the ls2 coil conversion when it gets out. Hoping I'll notice some performance difference after these mods

The one thing I haven't done yet that I'll be doing in the next day or two is checking the fluids in the trans/differential. Just don't like putting it up on small ramps to check them, rather use an oil bay or something.

I'm at the rotary rally every year... I'm staff...
I don't recommend the Remedy water pump / thermostat if you're not regularly maintaining 9k+ RPMs, and or you're FI. You can get it if you want. It wont hurt, but it won't help over stock either for close to a $500 investment. Just a suggestion. Even with my bridge porting Paul at Mazmart was skeptical that I needed it, so I didn't bother, and I've had no issues. Money better spent on a dual core aluminum radiator.
I can meet up pretty much any time on a weekend and some weekdays as long as I know in advance.

We haven't set up registration yet. I expect that to be right at the start of the year. I need to test some new things on the website in the next couple weeks for some changes I want to make... If you register an account you can see things like the who's coming map under the event info drop down at the top of the page.

Seriously though, whenever... maybe like the 6th or something?
I have to order an exhaust manifold and a new O2 sensor... car is running like **** and I can't tune anything. It's just not responding. Works fine in open loop, but in closed loop above 40% load and 4k RPM it goes like 11:1 AFR and just dumps fuel. Pain in the ***.

We should do like a Natchez Trace thing. I still haven't been over there and been meaning to since I got my 8. Although it's quite scenic and beautiful, their speed limits are a very strict 50 or so iirc.
