This says 7: http://www.trilon.com/bapom/maps/map-roebling.pdf
when I was there last year, it was 9, but I see it as 7 with a little added turn, but a little differently than OMS.

I see it the same from turn 1-4, the after turn 4, at your apex, you start to point to track left, and almost brush the curbing on the left, there is a little steering input there, and a point to hit, that is now considered turn 5 for me, to some, not to others, to me, it helps to think of it that way, so that I can remember to be there. If you don't' get that little move right, getting set for turn 6 is tough.

turn 6 is probably my favorite corner out of the 4 tracks I have been to. the way the car plants, and rotates, and just transfers weight and drifts to the outside, it is pure unadulterated adrenaline for me, and I love that corner. I can't wait to do that again.

then to me the carousel is turn 7, all the way around, I don't see why it is labeled as two turns in places, it is one steady steering input, and your trajectory through the corner and to the apex, is controlled by throttle, a little more if you are too tight, and little breathe off if you ares tarting to push wide of the apex. this too is a fun corner, because you can really learn throttle steering here.

then the corner leading to the front straight is 8. 8 is fast, really fast. For those that have not been there, and have not heard the drill and instruction about turn 8, here it is. if you are pushing wide, but not in an oversteer condition, keep pointing to the grass, let the car run off, and just steer to the grass, there is a lot of run off there, and if you try to pull it back to the right, when it catches, you will be pointed right at the pit wall. I don't' think our car would be in an oversteer condition there, because it is not an overpowered corner, but more of one that you might enter too fast, and not be able to keep it on the track.

Thanks for the info. Part of the fun for me is the preparation. So what do you think of the advice given in the turn by turn guide. Do you think it is accurate for our cars?

Miek Skeen drives an E30, and he drives it well, he was on pole, and won both races at RA a couple weeks ago. It is really good info for an E30. Also, a lot of his turn in reference points, and on track reference points, were related to the old surface. It has been repaved, and as such, those points are not there anymore.

IMO, turn 1 & 2 are 3rd gear turns for us. Especially if they open the passing zone between 2 and 3 for HPDE 2. You will need that extra grunt coming out of turn 2 to get past a car in that short passing zone.

I shift to 4th for turn 3, to keep the revs lower, it allows you to stay on the thorttle, and not worry about overpowering the corner, and at your apex, you can be full thorttle. down shift to 3rd for turn 4, 5, 6, and 7, and then shift to 4th after the carousel, this also keeps the car more stable, and not at redline for the last turn leading to the front straight.

I think Skeen's turn by turn is pretty close. You will want to experiment with entering turn 1 in 4th and downshifting (SMOOTHLY) for turn 2, or taking turn 1 and 2 in 4th (with less grunt), or getting into 3rd before turn in for 1. I have done all 3 ways and am still not sure which is best. If you are not in a rush around the track, holding 4th through 1/2 is a lot of fun as you can really learn how well the car responds to TTO (training throttle oversteer).

His description of turn 6 (the carousel) is something I do quite differently. I tend to enter the carousel midtrack and come inside pretty early hugging the inside curbing. I learned that from the brother of the Spec Miata champion. He taught me that the outside half of the corner is off camber (and it is). So stay inside and the car will be less likely to want to come around on you.

Care for a roomie? I've got someone else coming too maybe, so let me check on that. A buddy was thinking of getting into these, but wanted to see an event first before forking over the cash.
OK Roomie. Just remember your ear plugs. Do you want to make the reservation, or should I?

Thanks. Not removable. They are permanent. I'm going to have them down the side like the speedsource cars as well.

My wife always teases me that I have an ugly, loud, smelly car. For the first time, she said, "wow, that looks good." I can't believe it. I had to run up and hug her.

If you all want, my buddy can make static removable/reusable ones for track days. We were talking about options for folks who didn't want them sticky. Anyone interested?

Alright. I'll let him know. What would be help is to decide on colors. He pretty much has everything, or has access to everything, but colors will help. We've got my RX-8 as a template and the Speedsource pictures as a reference. I don't know what the cost will be, but I'll ask him. Also, do you also want the sides or just the hood?

Actually in thinking about this, the size would be a bit much for me especially just to put on for a weekend. I think I have rethought this idea...

They are individual rotors, so the largest size is about 18" wide.

I got the template for one of them and we them were able to make whatever we wanted. He's got a vinyl cutting machine and everything, so we set up the software for what we want, the size we want, put in the color needed, and it done.

yeah, 2 or 3 per side in roughly 18" across would be really cool, maybe two at that size, and one a little smaller. Colors woudl be tough, I would want silver and white for the Ti.

and dano, I thought about my 22 count, and I am not sure how I came up with that.
after looking back at my online counter...I had the 21st in as the date...
