Oh, guess I've talked about it on the GA forum and didn't mention it here. I did post in the RX8 Discussion forum: Stolen wheels/tires/totes

Someone broke into my outbuilding and stole my gas powered tools like Chain Saw, Weed Eater and Hedge trimmer... all Stihl's and not cheep, a Tiller and my track tires. They did it on Saturday when the wife and I went out for dinner. We were gone about 1 1/2 hour so we were being cased! That's a real unsettling feeling. I have two leads but we are really guessing and have no real evidence who did it.

1. When we drove out our 400' + drive to the road, there was a guy walking the street listening to an ipod. He just doesn't look like he's walking for excercise. We were both a little concerned when we saw him.

2. 3 months ago we had roofers come out and re-do our house. One of them the wife really didn't like or trust. The only think he said to her the week they were out here was... "Do you have dogs?" They watched me change out my street tires and put on my track tires while they were working and saw me put them into the out-building. We didn't think about the roofers till after the Sherif's dept had left making their report so I'm calling in tomorrow to the Dectective's office and filling a supplemental report.

Could be, what I indicated is what I have seen on the instruction manual for the electronic monitoring gizmo's I sell to the guys who turbocharge their cars. The voltage thing is how the analog channel detects EGT, A/F and such.

Again, you can hook up a multimeter to the temp sender and check voltage / resistance between hot and cold engine condition to see what happens.

Thanks guys I did that but I dont know what the baselines are. All senders do not use the same it seems.
i am getting 8.5 volts to the sender cold or hot, I am getting 12.4 volts to the gauge. resistence is incrimental as expected. But without baselines--who knows?

544hours
32698 minutes
and 1.9 million seconds

I have a lot to do between now and then. on that list is remember where I put what skills I had. It has been a long time, no doubt I will be the back marker the first half of Saturday. Hopefully that will change as I get calibrated again.

What is stopping me is my company is in chap 11 and who knows what it looks like 30 - 60 days from now. I am already signed up and paid for BMWCCA but there is some uncertainty with regard to what the future holds for me on the employment front. It can be a range of posibilities that range from emerging from chap 11 with a go-forward strategy that includes me to being liquidated and me out on my ***...

Dang Bro! I don't like hearing that kind of talk. We are interviewing for Sales Reps., a Corporate Pilot and such but you'll never get the kind of hours you’re used to taking off. I hope everything works out for you and that restructuring is in the future.

We re-engineered the mount today and plan to prototype by Sunday. We think it is going to require drilling two holes in the pass way, which I really didn’t want to do, but we may need to for stability. It is made from Aluminum instead of steal and will not require any welding which we needed to do to keep cost down and allow Larry and I to build them ourselves. Stay tuned!

You can certainly be the Master Beta Tester at the BMW CCA at RA. That would be perfect.

Damn TA, that blows.
8 years ago, my company had 5000 employees, and my dept 275.
Now we have 1800 and 35 respectively. And almost twice the business. I know what it feels like.
We just got bought out by a competitor in Denver, and the transaction is in anti-trust hearings now. *fingers crossed* For both of us. I'll think positive thoughts for ya.

OMS - Can you explain your camera mount setup to me on Sat?

I'll do better than that. I will have either my original version installed or the revision. Depends on whether we get the new one completed in time for show. There's nothing wrong with the original version. I just want to make it even better.
