Don't know if this is a good one. I think the pre 91 models had a crank that was problematic but at this price...

TA - did anyone ever tell you that you are the man?! I hadn't looked at ebay yet. Been getting some info from Alan and Chas, and doing some research - hadn't even gotten to the point of buying cause I want to know what to look for. You are right though, at that price it is almost worth putting a bid in and see what happens.
If I am gonna do this, I had thought - lean toward the 94 or newer cause of the bigger engine.
I need to think this thru. Remember, 5 days ago was my first time on a road course. And here I am looking at a track car. What have you people done to me!
Seriously, thanks man - looking at my parameters and my budget. And if it is going to be strictly a track car, or a backup DD convertible for nice weather. So many decisions... said it before, wish I was rich.

The Holiday Inn Express would be fine, let me know, i will get it reserved, or the Fairfield Across the street, either one. I have rewards memberships that might get a slight discount. TA and I camped out at the Fairfield last time, and it was a nice place.

The HIE is $91 a night, and the Fairfield is about the same. I will check into the discounts I can get. I don't know if the NASA hotel has been announced, i did not see it on the NASA site.

we are also considering the Colony Inn in Kershaw, OMS, how was it, was it a decent enough place to sleep and dream about track. I know Phlash will not sleep, he will sit on his bed, jittery and bouncing around like he is hopped up on speed all night, but that is beside the point.
and yeah, I would love to have that Grand Am car, but I suspect I might be in a lot of trouble if I showed up with one of those at the homestead, and I would be riding a bike, the kind you pedal, for the rest of my life.
and Dano, if you can swing the two weekends in a row off, do it, CMP is a really cool track, another one that the 8 likes a lot due to the predominant curves, and not a lot of emphasis on long straights.
I got the ok from the CFO yesterday, so I am officially in. w00t w00t, I can't freakin wait, it has been a long time since I had any track.
only 48 more days!!

Lego and I roomed there and it is a nice place. The breakfast in the morning is outstanding. It's not a continental but that's OK. The rooms are more than adiquit for your stay and they were at the NASA rate, can't remember right off but decent prices. I would reccomend them highly.

excellent review, who needs Zagat reports, when we have OMS. I will book a room on Monday. I am waiting to find out if there will be a NASA rate there.
god, I am going to drive all of you nuts now, I am already hyped up, and we have, oh, 48 days to go...I apologize now, for I know not what I do...

glad you will be able to make it OMS.
I think we should all stay at the same hotel, to make it easy for transit back and forth. how many people going are going to be on street tires? I know that flash and I will be on R comps, and I would rather not drive them around on the street back and forth to the track and hotel, so if anyone else going would like to taxi around, that would be mighty nice of them.

I have one or two events left on my Azenis. I'm close enough right now, if they were my street tires, I'd be getting new ones. Maybe CMP will do them in.

I need new street tires, I am going to put the Kumho MX's that I had been tracking on as my street tires. Now that I have some sticky R comps. I am really looking forward to seeing what the difference is.
Hey Phlash, now that you are an instructor, I want to catch a ride with you. I am going to try and work on getting better about riding along with other drivers. And I am sure I can learn a thing or two.

Guys, glad to see you heading to CMP. It will be a blast. I will be instructing for the Mustang Club next weekend, and then down at Road Atlanta driving an R32. Hopefully, I will be hitting Barber and a few other tracks in an R or an Caymen, if my buddie gets his wifey a new track car. He is gratious enough to let me drive them while I TRY to find another freakin car.

Well... if there is a fee to get in the park, it's minimal. Phlash will know for sure. And when it comes to helping us in the pits... you will be dissapointed if you are expecting anything like what you have already experienced. This is laid back and causual, usually with plenty of time to check the oil, tire pressure and make sure your bladder is evacuated. Ask Swoop. This is what he did at Roebling Road last weekend. He did take some photos while watching from the sidelines and help us with anything we needed but mostly we just enjoyed talking and being together with a comon cause. These are some fun times.
best 5 bucks i ever spent... the race track just needed a pool and a bar. i would have never left...
btw, bring a chair, sunscreen, big trendy hat. and a sense of humor... win, win.
