Entry fees are $0 since I am an instructor. The real cost is gas, brake pads, tires, oil, brake fluid, food, hotel, other maintenance that the car needs due to the heavy duty use. I have 6 events done already this year... I am about to replace brake pads for the 3rd time this year.

Holy crap! Your name says it all. You're getting a heck of a lot of seat time. Any word on the dedicated track car hunting?

TA, you da track ho!

The upkeep on the car does get costly, but it is worth it, it is too much fun.

I am only driving three this year: CMP with NASA, Roebling with NASA and Barber with NASA. Maybe next year I will drive more, and work less.

you do have to be a NASA member, it is not too much to sign up, and you end up with a subscription to Grassroots Motorpsorts too, so not too bad.

and it looks like registration is now open for Barber. if you want to join NASA for it, I would sign up now, it will fill up fast, since we have all been waiting to run there with NASA.

I would guess I have around 3900 track miles on the car. It is a SWAG. If I get about 150 miles per weekend (give or take) it breaks down as follows:
2004 - 300
2005 - 750
2006 - 1800
2007 to date - 900
The number is likely a conservative estimate but still gives you an idea. I have around 59500 total miles on the car.

Swoope - I need a seat cover for my passenger seat that says something like - if you can read this, the bitch puked! I'd be honored to ferry your *** around the luscious curves of Roebling Road Raceway.

I'm back in the game boys and girlz:

June 16-17 VIR Grand East Mazda Drivers - Confirmed
July 14-15 CMP NASA - Confirmed
Aug 10-11-12 RA NASA - Confirmed
Sept 29-30 Roebling NASA - Confirmed
Oct 13-14 Barber NASA - Confirmed
Nov 3-4 Barber Audi Club - Maybe

I hope my work travel schedule does not go to pot again but as it sits right now that's what I've got in store for the rest of the season.

I'll be TA Junior I guess..

Yep, I remember you from RA. I am looking forward to being around and seeing you some more.

The past few months have not been track friendly as my family and work scheds had me going overtime. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some of it back on the 2nd half of the season.

Yeah man!!! I'll want a full report back from VIR. I wish I could make this but I'll be in between flying home from Tampa nd flying out to Fort Lauderdale. No way I can squeeze that puppy in.

You can be TA2.

Got my welcome packet for the BMW event July 6 - 8. Looks pretty good with regard to track time...

Friday is open track...
9 - 12 with a 15 minute corner worker break
1 - 5 with a 15 minute corner worker break
I will probably do a few hundred track miles and catch as many rides with other people as I can. I anticipate really taking advantage of the loose format. Lots of track time and no set schedules makes for a fun day at the track.

Sat and Sun look excellent with each run group getting 4 25 minute run sessions. Instructors get 3 but we can go out in A or B groups so there will be plenty of track time.

I got to finish prepping my car. I have some looseness in the front end of the car I need to find and fix. I need to do the front brakes and do a good bleed job. I am also going to change diff and tranny fluids.

Well I finally registered for Barbers. I was trying to decide between this and PBOC in Nov. but figured this would be more fun since I'll get to meet some new Rotary guys.

Video from BMW event at Road Atlanta July 2007

Here is some of the video from the RA weekend. For better picture quality, download the video and play it back using the Google video player.
