Introduction to NASA - Free Trial to SCCA members!!

- Hey Moderator....can we sticky this for a little while??? Thanks!

***Free trial offer in second post***

Hi all,

For those of you out there that are SCCA or other club members or just curious about how to get some real "track time" in your RX, I would like to help introduce you to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). The SE division is growing by leaps and bounds. Membership includes discounts at hotels/motels, on parts, a subscription to grassroots motorsports magazine and much, much more.

Additionally you get the opportunity to get track time on some of the best tracks in the SE (Road Atlanta, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Lowes Motor Speedway, North Carloina Speedway, Robeling Road, Rock Creek, Snowshoe, etc...). Events include High Performance Drivers Ed (HPDE) levels 1-4, big and small bore racing, Instructor clinics, Legends, American Iron, Honda Challenge, Kit Car Challenge, SpecMiata, just to name a few. HPDE levels 1-2 include real in car instructors that more than likely, are racing during the weekend and have a great deal to share.......many on this forum have stated; "there is no money better spent on any modifications than on time with a real instructor, on a real track, in your car with you."

One of ther greatest parts of being a NASA member is the "work for race" program. Don't have the cash to just keep on running track events one after another? Well, NASA is always looking for grid, pit, corner, and flag workers. In addition to a free lunch each day and working with some awesome folks, you earn a FREE track weekend at any NASA event for every two weekends worked.

Spread the word!

NASA has welcomed Tom Hennig as NASA's SE Race Director and "worker coordinator." Please feel free to contact him at: fiatracerwins@ctc.net if you have any questions about the events or becoming part of the NASA family. Feel free to PM me as well.

We can always use help, and would love to see you fellow RXr's on the tracks! See you at the next event!:D

This just in from NASA.........for all you folks that hold SCCA memberships!!!!

Hello folks,

Just wanted to let you know about a new offer we've cooked up at NASA SE. The text is below.

If you have any questions please let me know.

Jason Holland
NASA SE SM Director

I’d like to extend an invitation and a great deal from NASA-SE to all you racer types out there.

For a limited time (the plan is for the rest of this year) NASA-SE will be inviting SCCA racers with a valid competition license to come try NASA for FREE!

NASA-SE will waive its membership fee and licensing fee ($90 value) for this time period.

In addition, NASA is going to make it as easy as possible for you to come back because we know you are going to like the organization. We’re hoping to have a one page form you can fill out at the track after which you will be a NASA member and have a NASA competition license (assuming you have an SCCA license already).

We’re making it easy on you to try it out. It’s extremely easy!

1. SCCA logbooks and tech will be accepted – No additional yearly tech
2. Membership to NASA is free for the first year
3. The comp License is free for the first year
4. Low hassle paperwork to get everything going

A few things to remember:

This is a NASA-SE offer and only good at their events.
There will be no rebates of cash – You just get the membership and license for free.

Also, this offer applies to all racing classes not just Spec Miata so if you have SCCA buddies in other classes, tell them about the offer! The more the merrier.

And remember, this offer is good for all events on the NASA SE calendar this year.

If you have any questions, please drop me a line or contact Jim Pantas, the director of NASA-SE at jimpantas@nasa-southeast.com

Thanks!

About 10 RX8s did a NASA event at Road Atlanta in March. It was a great event. I definately will do more NASA HPDEs (any damn chance I get). So, I second Phlash's recommendation.
