Guys, I had a great time. My lap times suffered but what the hell, I did have one complete run. It was only 66.024 but not a DNF. Thank you guys for all your help.

Splan... I needed you on my first two runs, BAD! I thought I was doing OK but I missed some cones on the back side. Oh well. I know I need more speed next time. It's amazing how you feel like you are screaming down the track and then you find out you were driving like granny!

Nabil, thanks for the rides. It helped me a lot. I think I'd have been in the 70's if I had not ridden with you.

Splan... I needed you!

Good to meet new faces to put with the screen names. Had a great time WantedTwo and hope to see you at our next get together. Hope you made it back to SC OK.

troads, can't wait to see your vids. Nabil, hope you got something besides the back seat. :D I decided not to bother with video. I was having enough trouble trying to remember the course.

Sorry, not sure I remember anyone taking photos. When Nabil and throads get their videos together, I'll host them on my site. Nabil had a great spin out on the back side and trhoads was videoing it at the same time as a spectator.

Had a great time trying to hurry and beat the rain, which we are just now getting up here in Dalton. I really enjoyed seeing another yellow 8 for a change too. I've got some pics and video from the event but it'll be a couple of days before it's up on the net. Oh yeah congrats to the other yellow 8 (sorry, bad memory with names.) for managing to get "more sideways than me" lol. Great 360 but I thought for sure you were going to hit the timers or that big light pole. Cant wait to see everyone again, had alot of fun. My friends were amazed by the number of 8s there too.

Sorry I had to jet... but you did complete the goal of any first timer... at least one run without a DNF. You are on your way to a better understanding of how your car handles.

Yes, that was the goal. Next time I will turn the DSC off. I wish we could have gotten our 4 runs instead of just 3. That last run is really needed to put everything you've learned together.

So, when is the next one and where? I'm ready to do it again.

The next event is July 24th, in the Turner Field parking lot.

Then August 7th back at the Fairgrounds. I actually like the fairgrounds a lot better, the track was more clear, and less confusing. I will probably try to do this event, but it is the weekend before the RA NASA event.

I do have video of Nabil's slide, it was pretty good, I watched it last night. My in-car is ok too, I just have to get it edited.

I had a good time, it was good to meet wanted, another addict. I thought he was going to get the timing lights too, I saw it, and thought, this is going to get expensive. That slow down area was a little tricky, my first time through, I was not coming through straight, got on the brakes, and ended up sideways. Wheee!

One more lap woudl have been good, I think I did 64.5,62.9,61.5. So I kept getting better.

Ready for the next one.

Why did you only get 3 runs?

Hey, don't forget there is a novice school on the 23rd too. Around 30-40 laps and option for instructor to ride along. Oh, and cost is only $50.

I don't know if my tires could handle 30-40 laps. I would need new ones when I got done.

Sorry I couldn't make it Sunday. Sounds like you guys had a blast as usual. I definately wanted to be there but with gas being $2.25/gal (for the cheap stuff)and it would take a whole tank for me to get there and back I figured I would stay home and save my money especially since all my important bills are due first of the month. I will definately try to make the next one if there will be another big RX8 turnout so I can see how my auto does against a larger number of manuals. Also look forward to seeing you guys at the end of the month for the Alabama trip.

hey spyder did you get any video of my runs? If so I would really like to get a copy from ya. When I went sliding through the gate I wasn't worried about the lights I knew I was gonna clear em but still it was a bit close. And yes running no cat with the sp2 is very loud, I do have the B&B midpipe with the resonator but I don't see where it makes that much difference sound wise. I guess I'll just have to get a turbo to hush it up some :D

Was Justin Shahan the black RX8 not in our group? The list has it "8 RX", guess that could have been a mistake. Hope I didn't leave anyone out. They also had some of us listed in morning instead of afternoon.

Class: C-STREET PREPARED
5. TRAVIS C 94 MIATA - 61.921

3. NABIL A 04 RX8 - 60.894

It's neat to see where you stand overall. I think we are all on there somewhere. I guess it all depends on how many times you've ran. We all plan on being there the 24th, how about everyone here?

I may see if I can convince the wife. With the Barber trip the next weekend, I may be pushing the number of car related activities for one month. :D I will see.

I don't think the 24th is going to work for me, vacation starts that weekend.
