Good shop in Melbourne area?
All,
Just got new rims, new rotors, new springs, and new brake lines. Anyone recommend a good shop in the Melbourne, Fla area? Hell, I'll go to Orlando or Vero Beach if I have to do so!
Even though I'd like to do all this myself, I just don't have the equipment and the springs are the only thing that really kinda back me off from attempting. I want someone I can trust and I'll at least check my local dealership(Boniface) as they are supposed to have one of the top mechanics.........but you know how that goes.
Thanks,
DT

Yea, I used to live in the Melbourne area and Boniface is fantastic. It sucks that they're not open on weekends but oh well. You're right that they have one of the best mechanics there, he won the Mazda mechanic showdown last year. Also the service manager..... I forget his name but he used to live down the street from me and he's a real pleasure to work with.

Ok. So we got one in Sebastian. One in Indialantic. Bastage lives in Melbourne. And myself in Melbourne.
I'm thinking Spessard Holland South Beach Park area. I know there's a lot of nice beaches with grills out there. And they've never been busy when I'm there.
Anyone else? SPEAK UP!

Im usually up for stuff if im not busy. LMK. My car needs some tlc before a meet. Havent done a good detailing in over 6 months.
The interior needs everything. Exterior needs gobs of back2black, chrome polish, need to steelwool the glass, and wax the paint. The paint could really use a polish but i dont trust myself... any recommendations? (keep in mind - i got no garage)

The problem with boniface is that the managment and the service writers are sleaze. Maybe they have someone new now. The tech work was mostly ok.
Last time I took my car there, it was hell, they scratched the **** out of my bumper fixing my tailights for the Xth time and left a handprint on my ceiling replacing the visor for the Xth time. I was not amused. They also wanted to charge me a diag fee or some BS for a CEL ( I have a scanalyzer, the code was a bad part they need to replace under TSB ) I had to call mazda corporate on them for the 2nd or 3rd time.
They also had given me the hardest time on getting any TSB's done. I went to orlando and the dealer there did them all no questions asked.

Boniface screwed up an oil change. Couldnt get out of their parking lot. Rough idle, no rev over 5k, lots of smoke. Went inside, they wouldnt admit fault. Yves was an *******. I had free oil changes forever with them as long as I kept up scheduled maintenance. After that i bought tools and do all the work i can on my own now.

I thought that DT probably already got his work done, since his post was last year. I think firebird is just talking about a general meet.
Speedbleeders are working great, and by that i mean, I havent touched them since, but the car still stops great. I havent done anything regarding the ticket, as the fine was 0$. My court date isnt for 2 more months, but i talked to a lawyer who said based on the situation and my record itll probably be around 250 and no points.
Anyone going to sebring next weekend? June 6-7 SCCA autocross there... Ill be there both days.

op, i get wheels and stuff like that put on at protech automotive in merritt island. he has a road force balancer that always finds stuff the tirerack people miss. he's always a first rate mechanic, and he'll let you sit back there and watch him.
right up the street is ramsey's performance alignment. they know all the autocross rules.

I put together a forum for us Brevard county RX8 owners. I've had success doing this with another hobby of mine, and figured it would make it easier for us local guys to communicate. Much easier to arrange meetings, etc. I did include the normal RX8 discussion forums, but mainly I figured we'd use the meeting sections.

Please take two seconds and register. Make a quick post in the meet and greet section so we can get this beach BBQ rolling. I was kinda shooting for June 28th, completely open to suggestions. So rather than me hunting through all the members on here (like I have been the past couple weeks) we can all just meet at brevardrx8.
