I am really looking forward to January 21.
i was thinking the same thing. I did not post much in that thread, and was not active in events at the time, but I read all 1000+ posts in that thread. Almost all of my posts for the last two days, have been on this thread. This is going to be way too much fun, and hopefully will become a tradition, and a regular event. let the countdown begin.

It is a blessing in disguise. I was torn on whether to run it or not. Now it is an easy decision

I bet this was due to some insurance concerns. They really locked down this year, and with that track have NO runoff anywhere, and with the two DE guys killed in NH and one at another speedway, they are probably looking for another Venue.

Oh well, I guess it will be the next event to shake down the car.

Jim's reply.......

"There were quite a few reasons why we had to drop it off the schedule, too many to list them all here. We are looking intensely at a few dates to be added in April/May to replace the Feb Rockingham date, we'll keep you posted!"

Ok, this is off-topic, but my daughter's doctor freaked me out today. I am terrified now that they are going to find something wrong in her test results. And of course, searching the web hurts more than it helped.

Please, if you pray, pray, if you don't, then keep my daughter in your thoughts.....sorry, it was on my mind, I had to vent....I am VERY stressed.

I am very sorry to hear that. I hope that nothing is wrong, and that she will be healthy.

STF, I'm not a real religious type but I will pray for her. I have a very close friend that I'm doing the same thing for. I wear a yellow wristband for him and will until he is healthy again. Be careful what you read on the Internet because a lot of times the symptoms you read about can be close to things that is actually not appropriate for her situation. I've done that before and put myself through anguish and found out it was not a big deal after all. But anyway, my thoughts are with her and your family.

STF,

This being around Christmas, you'll have no problem getting the prayers you need. We'll do the same here. I hope everything turns out well and that all is good. Tell your family we're thinking about them too, it'll keep your wife feeling a little better too.

Take care my friend.

I'm new to the world of 8's but I've run that track several times in my FD and my 240SX. I'd like to put my name on the tentative list, pending an absolute date, time and price (I read the thread but didn't see anything definite?).

Also, I don't know you but as brothers in auto-mania I'll keep you and yours in my prayers.

Additionally, would it be limited only to RX-8's or could I bring my 240 instead? I'm planning on building the 240 into a track car so I'd kind of like to get a baseline while it's fairly stock.

Currently my understanding is that the list of ten for Saturday is set. I am not sure if anyone has backed out, or who has actually paid to reserve their spot. STF is looking into Friday for another date, but I am not sure where that is in progress. You might send him a PM and ask, but as you read, he is a bit preoccupied at the moment, and understandably so.

Gotcha... I'll just wait until next time then or maybe catch up with one of the local clubs putting together some track dates.

Thanks for the quick response!

No problem, that is what us forum junkies are for.

Don't give up, you never know, someone may back out. I am not sure if a list of alternates has been created, you may want to get on it.

I wonder if that standby/alternate list is getting longer than the attending list!

It could turn into a two day event.

If it in fact turned into a two day event, I'd go for two days...I'd still rather run on Saturday...but I'd go for two....

I'm going to call you trackslut.

Seriously though, STF mentioned the possibility of doing a track day on Friday the 20th if he had 10 additional people for that day. I don't see myself doing 2 days in a row though. That would be a fatal overdose for me. My veins are already shot.
