then it is a plan. I would not mind riding with out either, and definately want to ride with anyone else who is better at this than me. and that will be most of you.

Will we be able to ride with windows up or must they stay down. I'd love to be able to have good audio on my movies and the wind causes such harsh noise that it renders the audio almost useless.

Silver,

any chance you can bring your 4 pole tent that we had at Petit LeMans, that woudl be nice to have.

STF, are there any power hookups at the track, just for plugging in a battery charger or something like that. Otherwise, I am gonna need one of those really long life camera batteries.

dont you have a remote mic, that you could plug into your camera? usually a good idea to keep windows down, but it will be cold, and in the end is up to STF, since he is in charge.

Roof closed, windows open, even in the cold rain (been there, done that). It's a safety thing.

i am hoping that it does not rain. That would not be much fun...except Phlash may get to learn to drift. This car on wet surface, DSC off=slip and slide.

One of the best days we ever had was in the rain with Panoz. Your learning curve speed increases ten fold. You learn so much so quickly in the rain. That day in the rain has saved my *** a couple times in the real world.

I'm entertaining the idea of purchasing a new set of tires/wheels to put on my car after we have finished our day long event. I think my OEM rubber will be pretty well spent.

As a daily tire, look hard at the Kumho ASX's. Great treadwear (420), quiet, sticky (although not a good track tire....that's why I have MX's as well). I've been very very happy with them. Go up a size as well.

I am going to be ordering a set of the RT-615 Azenis sometime this month. Going up to the 245/40/18, so that it stay's on the stock wheel. If I at some point can find another set of stock wheels again, I will be setting up a dedicated track tire.

Silver, are you looking to have 2 full sets of wheels and tires?

Like someone else pointed out, the track rules are decided by STF but high performance driving with your windows up isn't a good idea. TGPR isn't a track where anybody is likely to get into serious trouble but if someone does and the windows are up....well, it's not a good idea.

I'm gonna try something with my in-car camera to try to reduce the wind noise. I'm gonna take the foam from an old headset and cut a couple of pieces out of it. Then I'll use small amount of super glue to glue the foam over the microphone on the camera. Hopefully, that'll help reduce the buffeting sound of the wind blowing over the microphone. I don't know if it'll work but it's worth a try.

Ha Ha.

I saw TrackAddict in action at The Rock a couple of months ago. I think we'll all be working hard trying to keep up with him.

it might have a minimal effect, but it most likely won't cut out any noticable amount of wind noise. the best thing for that is a furry looking cover called a windjammer.

I got your 'furry lwindjammer' but it isn't so little...... Sorry couldn't resist.

Sorry, windows down, don't worry rain won't melt you. If it does rain, you will be prying me from the track......AwD.......

I have a big one we use to cover the camper sometimes. It should be more than big enough to protect us from the overspray.....

Guys - this thread is reminding me of the excitement and camaraderie this time last year as we started planning the Road Atlanta NASA event in March. I find myself checking this thread about 5 times per day. This is a bit more exciting though as we all realize that this is our own track day and the start of a GA RX8 Club tradition. I am really looking forward to January 21.
