well, the final step has been made. my new Falken Azenis RT-615's are on the car. The 245/40 setup was the way to go, it looks VERY nice. And to top it off, they are quiet, I can have a conversation while driving again. Now just to get them properly broken in, and I am ready for some track.

I'd like to see pics and where did you get them?

i took two with my phone, but they did not work on emailing them to myself for some reason. They look cool as hell, and are some fat tires. EDIT:I will try to take some pics tomorrow with the digi cam at work.

I got them from Gran Turismo East. the 4 tires installed and a 4 wheel alignment was $1011. Without ordering the tires online, you cant do any better than that. And when you order them online, you have to pay shipping.

Doing the Teins took my front camber to -2.0, and rear did not change. I had him dial it back to -1.0 in the front, and that is as positive as it can get. But there is plenty of room to add more negative.

Does anyone have a pyrometer we can use between runs? I want to monitor tire temps to see if the alginemnt specs need to change at all. I have spent all my money, and can't get one right now.

great set up L8--hope they dont fry on the track! The 615's are great tires and you dont have to change them to go to the track. I just have to have some track wheels/tires myself.
245/40 i also think is the perfect size!
why just -1.0 on the front?

Hey OD.

My goal is to get an extra set of wheels and tires at some point. But I am not sure when that will happen right now. My track addiction has really taken a hit on the accounts this month.

Why only -1 in the front, well, because I don't get bad tire wear, and I kinda like this setting. It worked well for me after I had it set that way before. Once I have a chance to look at how my tires are wearing on the track, and how it drives with these wider tires and the new suspension, I can go back and add some -camber if I need to. So we will see. It is different for every one based on their car setup. So I just have to find out if this works for me. Jeff over at Gran Turismo agreed that I should at least start where I was, and work on it from there.

Good choice, Steve liked his very much, maybe not as much as the 215's, but he said these were alot more consistent.

awesome tires dude. From the pics I would say if you want good sidewall support dont go bigger than the 245's with an 8 inch rim.. Looks good. On the camber you are right, follow their lead. I am running 1.4F and 1.8 R and love it. Had great tire wear at Roebling. even across the face and a lot of it! That alignment makes it a differant car doesnt it!

Hey Pam,

Come out and join us on Saturday. Take that 10th spot.

I have left a message with AC8, to see if he is still going. So we shall see.

Guys, good to see you guys running with this. Pam, I am siked to have a women driver come out, just FYI, last time I had a female student, she ended up being the fastest in her run group, which was the B group at a Mustang Event. .

What is your background, I know most of the others....

She will surprise you!
We need to get her one of those stickers that says, "You've just been passed by a Girl!" for the back of her car. That way she can mess with all the folks during the HPDE's.

Crap, I just remembered, RXeighter(I believe is his handle) called today requesting that spot. I am not sure who asked first, it is possible Pam did ask first, but I don't remember. Pam / RXEighter, you guys decide, or hope that AC8 backs out for Saturday. Either way, Pam you are more than welcome on Friday, and you can hang / help out on Saturday.

Let me know, TrackAddict, you can moderate who asked first and make the call. The Evo guy won't make this one.

Did Charlie(Marietta 8) back out? I know he was going to come out too. I have not heard back from AC8 yet. I guess we need to set of deadline of say next Friday for getting a spot reserved. TA, your thoughts.

STF, can you set some of the rules and expectations you have, what you think we need to bring with us other than the usual safety gear. How many cars on track at one time, I have heard 3 tossed out on the SCCA forum. Things of that nature, so that no one shows up missing something they need....long pants!

(I really doubt long pants and long sleeves will be a problem, since it will be January, but for reference sake...)

So now it's Pam I'm up against.
At least she's a whole lot better looking than oldragger.

I'm going to make this easy --
Pam, take Saturday. I am doing a lot of traveling in Jan/Feb, so I should stay home with the wife anyways.

I'll see y'all in March at Road Atlanta.

Saturday's Group

First thanks to STF, I get to be the bad guy. That's OK though since I would like to think that all who know me agree that I wouldn't fudge anything. If you get mad at me for playing by the rules we set, you shouldn't want to play anyway. We will have track rules for our track day as well and there is no place for those who won't abide by them. This is fair warning that you will not be allowed to run if you do not follow the track rules set by STF and his team of instructors, nor will you get a refund.

IIRC, everyone who wanted to run was supposed to send STF a PM to reserve a spot. I don't know who PM'ed him first between Pam and rxeightr. As for a public forum statement, rxeighter posted on Dec 23rd at 9:54pm. Pam posted on Dec 29 at 6:52pm. However, Pam mentions having sent a PM about signing up. Rxeightr mentions in his post on the 23rd that this was the first time he saw this event listed. I have no reason to doubt that Pam did indeed PM STF about running on Saturday so I would have to say she gets the spot.

I would love to see both Pam and rxeightr on track with us but fair is fair. The person who spoke up first gets the spot. I assume Pam sent her PM before Dec 23rd based on how I read her post. Pam - if this is not correct, please speak up. The other person goes on the waiting list.

Spyder_doo can also claim a spot on the waiting list.

Everyone confirmed must get their check to STF ASAP. Mail it today in case you have not already done so.

If you are not paid up by Friday Jan 6, your slot is open for the next person on the waiting list.

****EDIT: Damn - it took so long to type this up, rxeightr posted up relinquishing the spot in contention. I need to sharpen my typing skills****

You will earn some serious points with the wife on that. Maybe she will make you some of those awesome wings or something
