Failed emissions test in Nashville, tn

I went to run my 09 r3 through the emission testing facility so I could finish getting the plate registered to the car, and it didn't pass but didn't exactly fail either. The Obd 2 port under the dash in the Mazda is completely wrong for the port on the device the testing facility uses. So they couldn't test me. Luckily I can go back and get it done for free within the next few months so in don't have to pay another 9 dollars. Anyone else have this issue?

That doesn't sound right... Is that the excuse that the testing facility gave you? an OBD2 port is an OBD2 port. I would take it to another testing facility. Sounds to me like they just didn't want to touch your car. they're always real nervous when I take my car in like they don't even want to touch it.

Every OBD2 port is the exact same on every vehicle since 1996... that test facility just gave you the run around man.

When I got home I took a closer look at it where I had better light available. What happened was one of the two previous owners broke a piece off in the port. I pulled it out with a pair of pliers and it was good to go. Wierdest thing. Just glad that's all it was. For all I know it was a tech at another testing facility with their head up their ***.
