Talking back to the dragon.....

How long of a drive is it from Miami, FL. Does anyone know? I'm dying to go, but I don't think I'll make it, if I leave friday afterwork... I could take the day off.... Also what will be the best way to get there? And how's the weather in september? No too cold I hope...

oh damn dude...it's a 12 hour drive from Boca Raton to Auburn, AL. The drive from Auburn is 1hr SW from ATL and ATL is about 1.5-2 hrs from the Tail....so you're looking at quite a drive...

Meow,

I'm with you. I may get a little peppy if my daughter wasn't with me, but since she's coming with me, I'll probably be doing the speed limit like you. If I was ever responsible for hurting one of my kids, they'd have to institutionalize me.

otrovago.... about a 13 hour drive for you. If you left at 6 a.m., you should arrive around 7 p.m. or thereabouts.

Sept. around there is within 5 degrees cooler of the weather here in Chatt-town. In sept, it is usually in the 80s still and daytime shouldn't go lower than 70. With the sun out... BEAUTIFUL!!! :D :D

There are several peeps coming from the Clearwater area on the opposite side. I would estimate a drive of ~15 hours from Miami when taking into account traffic and general stops :o

Gather round boys to this tale that I tell.
You wanna know how to take a short trip to hell?
It's guarenteed to get your own place in hell.
Just take your lovely daughter and push her in the well.
Take your lovely daughter and throw her in the well.

Don't speak to me of lovers, with a broken heart.
You wanna know what can really tear you apart?
I'm going out to the barn, will I never stop in pain?
I'm going out to the barn, to hang myself in shame.

Question 13-15 Hours?

Well, its gona be about 13 - 15 hours, so far the easiest route I found was from mapquest, which is 883 miles - 14.5 hours,
taking I-95 to I-26 W to Us-74 to US-129

Yahoo its the same mileage but 1 less hour, taking all kinds of roads , I prefer to stay on the major highways if possible. Does anyone have any suggestions? How about taking the turnpike to I-75N, to (need help with this one). Which will be a better drive.

Anyone from orlando going? what about clearwater, how are you getting upthere?

I'll be putting lots of miles on the 8 in the next few months, this weekend I'm driving up to tallahasee, FL, then hopefully to Dragons Tail, then in Nov up to Dalton, GA to eat turkey with my moms...

Ok I have to say it again. NO MATTER HOW FAR THE DRIVE I ASSURE YOU IT IS WORTH IT!!!! PEOPLE COME FROM OTHER COUNTRIES TO RIDE THIS ROAD!!! (side note...saw a guy from the Ukraine wedge his bike under the guard rail on the Cherohala Skyway hehehe...he was passing on the double yellow and being an out right *** all day anyway, he deserved it). Back to the point..IF YOU CAN MAKE IT GET IN THE CAR AND DRIVE PEOPLE!!!! If you don't you know you will kick yourself when you see the pics and posts after the rally is over. Just my two cents worth.

I did can you check if it went thru, I'm using safari on a mac and it just gave me a blank screen after I hit submit... Also $120 per person does not guarantee me a bed? I don't like the sound of that...

With the doors we have, we could probably turn our 8's into tents ala the Aztec!

Sorry...

I don't have Paypal. All you have to do is go by any post office or convenience store and purchase a money order. They don't need any information. The address is on the enrollment form you download off the website.

This is just an itty-bitty inconvenience compared to the breath-taking, exctasy you'll be experiencing for those couple of days, don't you think?

Thanks for understanding.

Randy if you don't have a problem with it then anyone can paypal me the money and I will bring you a check. Anyone who does this will have to pay their total plus 2.9% for paypal fees. Let me know or give me a call and I will post my info so anyone can pay with paypal.

James

Ok guys I have a paypal account that Randy has agreed to let everyone use. I live in the same town Jacksonville as him so I can bring him the money. You are welcome to check my rating on paypal at jcgrim@comcast.net or feedback on ebay user name jcgrim.

So like I said you are welcome to paypal me the money, plus 2.9% for paypal fees.

Example $120 * 2.9% = $123.48 its that easy. Send the money to jcgrim@comcast.net and mark it in the comments as to what its for. I will confirm reciept of the payment.

You are also welcome to check paypal and see that their fee structure is 2.9%....check it out Here

Thanks guys,
James
