We had a nice turn out last night. Only 3 RX-8s. But we had over 15 RX-7s of various generations. It was cold, but we are diehard rotorheads

Nice to meet Val Pack and good to see Lewis out again. Troy drove his RX-8 this time.

ATL - Monday Dec. 6th - Jeffrey's Sports Bar

Mike Simonovich posted on our SE-RX7 yahoogroup list:

Hey all you NE ATL folks, Ray and I are planning to stop by Jeffery's on
Monday (12/6) at 6:00. Anyone interested in joining us for beer and
some rotary conversation is welcome.

Jeffrey's is off of I-85N at exit 111 ( Lawrenceville/Suwanee Dam Road).
Traveling north, exit 111, turn right, get into the 2nd left turn lane, which is at the 1st light. Jeffrey's is just past the Publix entrance on the right side of Horizon Road.

Hope to see some of you there. All you guys on the I-85 corridor should come up. I will be there around 7PM

Hope to see more RX-8s joining us. :D

2nd Annual Spring Rotary Meet

I'm going to start to put to together another spring rotary meet (mainly to hold me over until the next dragon!). Last year we had a great turnout for a one-day meet at Race Rock in Orlando, a short cruise time, and a good photo op at the end. Info and pics from last years meet can be viewed at:

http://www.mazdanow.com/orlando.htm (thanks to Razpewton)

The 2005 meet will be a little earlier in the year, so maybe we can entice some yankees to come down from the fridged north. I'm looking at the first couple of weekends in March. This mainly depends on the big addition for this year, a track day!!!.

That's right, this year we're going for a Saturday/Sunday meet with a track day starting early Saturday. Hopefully at Sebring but Panoz apparently doesn't offer Sebring track days anymore. I'll call them Monday and see if there's other options. If not there, then we can try the road course at Gainesville Raceway (http://www.gainesvilleraceway.com/test_track.html). It's not a world famous course, but it's still a fun drive (and there's no walls to hit, just grass to tear up). We'll finish up Saturday with a group dinner somewhere in Orlando (Sebring is about an hour south of Orlando, Gainesville about 2 hours north). Sunday we'll have the show and shine meet at Race Rock. Everything should be wrapped up early afternoon on Sunday.

Last year the planning was pretty short and informal, yet we were still able to gather a great turnout and some great sponsors. This year we hope to outdo both aspects. Since some of you naturally wont want to track your car, running the track day will be optional. I'll also give a call to a few of the 30 billion hotels around here and get some good group discounts once we get a date decided. Track days run about $250-350 a day, and that should be the only cost aside from food and lodging.

Anyway, just putting this out there for everyone to hear. If anyone wants to help me out, just let me know. We've got plenty of time to make this great! I'll keep this thread updated with any...updates!

LOL, love the avatar.

The first few weekends in March will be busy for car buffs. The weekend of the 12th and 13th is the Ameilia Island Concours and the following weekend is the 12 Hours of Sebring. In case you wanted to keep that in mind when planning dates.

Ah, totally forgot about the 12 hours at Sebring. That was just a time frame, really my schedule is pretty open for then. I'm going to call Sebring on monday and see what they can do for us.

I remember you coming out to the St. Pete meet at sunshine (even though I didn't go to the races). I had the Gray 8.
