Friday night is a bit hard with the traffic......Saturday sounds good to me.....suggestions on location????

Im down for tampa again, or lakeland as jwitzer sugested, or even orlando or the beach, anything is find with me.

I would like to avoid Race Rock, not that I dont like it, but Ive been there 2 times this year, and thats more than enough!

 

I am down with Lakeland. Didn't someone say something about a restaraunt that had outdoor dining like the last meet.

I think the weather is why everyone is coming out.....the last meet had over 25 people and 11 RX-8s, 3 Miatas, 1 Mazda 3, 1 Mazda 6, 1 WRX, and 1 Mazdaspeed Protoge. I haven't seen that many 8s in one place other than at a dealer.

 

Car will be fixed by then, so I'm in.

If we're going on a saturday, we don't have to go out so late. How about st. augustine area? kinda far for the tampa guys, but there's probably some of the Jax crew that would be in.

Other choices are: tampa again, orlando metro area, cocoa again, lakeland, west coast beaches...the list goes on!

 

yes, 12/3 is great for me. Let's plan this right so that some of the other Rotors can come.

Now we need a location. KYLiquid is right, we've been to Race Rock a couple times in the last 4 mo's. I second Lakeland. We could have the others in Daytona or Orl next year.

 

There is that big Mazda meet on Nov 19th in Orlando, so let's nix the Orlando area for Dec if that is okay.

The weather is nice for a group drive.....Daytona would be fun too. Is there a group in Daytona? I have heard a Jacksonville driver looking for a group on the forum......

Daytona Sounds Nice...not To Far From Orlando... But Might Be A Journey For Tampa 8's.... Also There's A Shytload Of Cars Out On Sat Nite Around The Downtown Orlando Area... Definetly On Colonial... And It Would Be Nice If I Wasnt The Only 8 Around A Shytload Of Evo's N Honda's

And Whas The Big Mazda Meet 11/19 ...???

 

I don't know how Daytona's beaches are, but in New Smyrna (15min away) you can drive on the beach. What a great opportunity for a group photo...... we are down for drive to Daytona. We will probably spend the night there or spend the night in Orlando though...are there a bunch of 8s in that area?

 

I'm down for whatever. Let's find a restaurant that does not sell BIG ARSSS Hotdogs that could choke a camel.

 

You can drive on the beaches in Daytona as well, I think they may restrict night driving though, I'm not sure if that's just a seasonal thing or not. I'm not a big fan of the east coast beaches (South Beach is alright but crazy busy), I vote for a midday Sarasota or Venice meet sometime so we can get some super nice beach shots with all our 4-wheeled kids. Winter would actually be good since the beaches will be fairly empty. Maybe that can be the January meet.

Oh and we have an open futon here in Orlando if you need it, Mantis - we'll even clean up all the errant beer bottles just for you!

are you talking about 'the corner' of orange ave and colonial, on satnights. I used to be out there every saturday, I havent been the last 3 weeks, but I will be going out there again soon, I try to make it every other week or so....I have never seen another rx8 there, I usualy show up at 10pm and stay till midnight.

anyway, I think you can only drive on the beach from dawn till dusk, its closed durring night time, but is you wanted to go to the beach, there is a shopping center with a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. they have a large outdoor area for seating, and I have seen them close the patio just for groups in the past. There is also a parking garage right next door to the resturant, maby they could close the roof parking just for us...

Just an idea, if there is interest in going to daytona, that could be an option. Lemme know and I can call the resturant and get more info.

If there is a reg thing in Orlando that you are going to let me know the day you are going and I'll come.

We will be over at that day meet on the 19th and staying over night, so let me know if you guys are going late Sat night. That's pretty close to that Church street area right? We can grab dinner over there and then go to yer spot to represent the gang. Er, group?

Did you eat a long dog at Barley Hoppers Raymull? I think you need to drink a lot of brew first to avoid having to say you ate something like that. Unless it's one of those crazy coney dogs at Sonics. I will eat Tums after one of those dogs anytime!

 

yea somewhat near orange ave... i usually go around there and a little further down where all the bmw's hang out........then after 12 i usually go near obt near the back warehouses where all the lil civic's and gti's race....

 

So, have we decided where this meet with be? We have a date Dec. 3rd, and I think maybe Daytona?

BTW: I'm not big on the beach driving thing, but I'll prolly go to support the group.

There were some people that mentioned Lakeland and some for Daytona. Daytona sounds fine, but that restaraunt in Lakeland sounds nice for a meet.

I still vote for Lakeland cuz Daytona is so far for us over in Tampa. That's a really long drive....

 

If it is in Daytona it will be a 100% I don't go. Wayyyy to far.
If it is in Lakeland it will be a 30% I don't go. Not to bad but I'm going to AZ on the 4th.

 

What kind of commitment is 30%? Ha! You can commit to a meet the day before you are stuck in an airplane for hours......you're not driving are you?

 

Nope but the plane leaves at 7:00 am, so I have to be their at 6:00 am. So I have to be up at 5:00 am
