Thanks S8 -- I enjoy prowling the forums. I hang out with Lexus, Porsche, BMW and others. Hubby thinks I spend way too much time -- but if I'm doing something, I always tend to put my all into it. I like the DEs - and I want them to be successful. The Boys & Girls Club really appreciate it. I would hate to be one of these clubs that thinks - we put our name up on a site and everyone will come. Well, they don't all come, and it makes me sad to see clubs that use to have 125-135 people attending down to less than 50. Enough.

Okay - let's see what we have here
Dano - White
Kurt - Instructor (marked for red unless... you'd like to be in Black)
Don - Black
Olddragger - Black
Swoop - Green
John - Black
Nabil - if he shows - Instructor: Red or Black

Everyone is welcomed to attend the classroom - you can see how our Bill does it... and I know one Mazda is showing up just for the Friday lapping day.

And Don, thank you for taking the time to read the documentation. It truly is appreciated. Today at Roebling during the participant's meeting - they stood there and read the rules of the track to everyone. It took forever...

Onrails - are you coming? We can put a drill sargeant in your car - one that will get you on your line, and help keep you there consistently....

Whooooaaa - if John hasn't nailed down 5 - he should not be in Black.... we aren't NASA -- he was probably between the White and Black and based on track time went to Black. I think maybe he goes to White and we see how it goes from there.... yes? ... YES.

The study clip I posted is my own on board video from my last time at Roebling back in May. Turn 5 can be driven several different ways but the clip I posted shows the way I like to take the turn. I also believe it to be the fastest way through in a car like ours.

When I say I want to nail it every time it means I am looking for perfection. That's what TT is all about - minimizing your mistakes. It's a game of tenths and inches. Alas that is a lofty goal since nobody is perfect every lap - even the pros.

To me it's important to have a goal every event. You could say I'm a student of the game. That said I check my ego at the door every time out and never turn down instruction when it is offered. I am not a know-it-all. I've noticed that the best drivers and instructors out there seek instruction and input from each other and are always trying to up their game. I do my best to follow their example.

Yes indeed! Getting closer!

OD, glad you are gonna bring the family by - that's nice!

Any yes, every one make sure you bring your documents, and read thru your tech sheet. It is a bit different - but nothing on there should be a surprise to everyone. (It does have a spot needing a mechanic signature)

Jackie - You can ask any instructor that has been on track with John/OnRails - he's black group. Not just speed, but awareness and courtesy also.
We just love to dissect vid and try different lines and see what works for others.

hey on rails--ran the hoosiers yet?
I cant get to that clip anymore?
will vouch for him also--great guy, good driver with track respect.
Just changed trans oil this w/e (blend of RP max gear to give a higher weight)
installed my denso plugs--only changing pads, greasing sways, and changing diff oil is left!
Roebling still hs race gas available--right? do you have to use a credit card to get it?
How does the $25 track rides work out--daughter is interested.

Thanks guys.

OD - The video works for me but I also put a Google version out there :

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...roebling&hl=en

Quality isn't as good but maybe it will work better for you.

Haven't run the Hoosiers yet. This will be their maiden voyage.

BTW - Here is another interesting thing I discovered recently. As you know our throttle is a drive by wire system meaning there is no physical link between the gas pedal and the throttle. Ever notice that that last little bit of pedal travel doesn't seem to add a whole lot of power? I have noticed this coming through turn 9 where you are slowly adding more throttle. Apparently the ECU is setup such that anything over 84% on the throttle position sensor opens the throttle 100%. That's why the last little bit of pedal travel doesn't add power - because you are already at 100%.

OnRails....
Hubby just watched your film and said..."Looks like you are taking a regular 911 DE line on Turn 5." He is sitting next to me and if you would like him to show you what he uses as the 2 apex spots on Turn 5 - just ask... You can see if you feel comfortable with it.

I was just on Youtube watching Roebling vids... several different one's - and I come across one from a guy in a Z06. I watch it for a couple mins and lo and behold, he is passing ME!

My first thought was - damn that's a nice miata.
Went back and looked and it was from SeatTime last May.

Oh, and I am not excited either. Haven't even thought about it.... when is it again?

How about you ask him to either sit with you one session in the right hand seat - or go out with him in our "insured" 944!!!

And you are always welcomed to ask for an instructor for a session - our CDI makes a point of that in our Saturday morning gathering of the stormtroopers.

Well Old Dragger - if you were an instructor you could take someone out with you every session...but as a regular participant - you can take an instructor out with you every session - you just can't take out another "just a participant" with ya...

And I'm sorry Silver8, cause I am excited....

Meanwhile, I was asked if our instructors are Jedi Instructors - and if our Greens are Padawans... LOL

Meanwhile

I am in. I just spoke to Jackie and did my registration for Sat/Sun + BBQ. I don't know what group she will put me as I will be in something other than my RX8 and may be a bit slower than the assorted machinery in Red. That said, with passing anywhere, I do have the awareness to not be an obstacle.

and I thought we were going to save the TrackAddict as a surprise guest....

I spoke to CDI - we'll want to know what car they give you ... and ... we have to see what cars are placed in the instructor's group. Not our priority with 10 days to go...

Getting lots of last minute - I Want In folks... should be fun, fun, fun!

BTW - one of them is another Rx8...
