Thumbs up Blue Ridge Rotary Run 2012 "B3R"

Hello All!

Been a while since I've posted the forum, but I wanted everyone to know you're invited to the 2012 B3R. This event is free, for the most part. Of course you'll have your own expenses such as gas, oil, and food (potential small fee for the campground).

We tend to start near Asheville, NC and drive down near Cherokee and camp for the night, then drive back. There'll be a few stops along the way for photo opportunities of the scenery or the cars. At the camp ground there's a huge fire, cook-out, and the like. Just a great time to get with fellow rotary and Mazda enthusiasts and enjoy a fun drive.

Event dates are June 16 & 17th.

Please feel free to pass this along to your friends. More details will follow.

Hope to see you there!!!!

Would be kinda cool to see that part of the parkway.

As a kid, every year we would visit my Grandmother who lived in Sparta, NC, we lived in Maryland. We would head into Virginia and pick up Skyline Drive in Front Royal, VA. I think at some point it turned into the Blue Ridge Parkway..anyway we would drive that all the way down to Sparta. I used to love that part of the trip. Each year she would pick different spots to stop and sitesee, but we always stopped at the water mill (Mabry Mill?).

I remember one time we went to Grandfather Mountain, which I think is officially as far down that road I have been. And even then the stretch from Sparta to Grandfather Mountain was only travelled once.

I have meant to go back and drive the entire length since then (Grandparents moved on in '79 & '81) but have never been back.

I will try to keep the calendar open.

usafrotard, sorry you can't make it. Be safe in your travels though.

I would love to do this, but i will be at Atlanta Motorsports Park with Tracks Unlimited that weekend. You guys should drive on down to Dawsonville and see this track. Funnest track I've ever been on! Have fun on the Parkway!
