Thanks Guys I really appreciate it. I have nothing wrong at this time. But I just picked up this 04 6spd in great shape. Never owned one before. Had a friend of mines dad who raced a Mazda rotary motor in the 70'/80's and he swore by them. So I got a steel on this one and scooped it up. Now Ive been reading all the possibilites of this thing blowing an engine. Im just hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Just wanted to know if i did happen I could get an engine rebuild locally. I already had it checked out and it got rave reviews on the compression, Vaccum, ignition, cooling etc.. But it really is a cool car and a blast to drive. Thanks again.

Hey! I just PCS'd to Tyndall a few months ago in Panama City. Been looking around for other 8 owners too, hard to find you guys lol. There used to be 6 on base but now it's down to myself, my neighbor and 1 other guy apparently. The others all sold theirs for pistons... they all caught that 2013 Genesis flu.. and one crashed not too long ago.

yeah he sold his rx8 for a mazda3 and then traded that for a 2013 genesis. Now my best friend with the black series 2 in my sig wants to sell it for a bmw 135i lol. The rx8 presence is dying fast on Tyndall..

 

That sucks, well I have less than two months left then ill back in good old Florida in my 8 again...

hey man I'm in the same boat just dropped like 4 grand in replacements and upgrades, the poor little lady at the post office gets crushed like 3 times a week by my packages. Still have to rebuild too lol
