Here's the SC RX-7 May meet plans... and I quote, "meeting in summerville then going to charelston."

...

"OK. Meet is in Charleston, May 7th. We just need a time and place.

Place: That new strip mall in Summerville seems like it would be good since it's right off the highway and there are plenty of places to eat and whatnot. Any seconds?

Time: I know some people were planning on heading to Florida the next day, and I know I am seeing the race in Darlington with a start time of 7:10 that night, so I also move to have the meet earlier in the day, but not too early so those from Columbia don't have to wake before the sun comes out. Anyone else have any suggestions? Seconds?"

...

"Awesome. Summerville, May 7th, movie theatre parking lot, 2pm. now for the final debate: where to eat?"

...

"The address is:
215 Azalea Square Blvd. And it doesn't show up on MapQuest.

If you are coming up 26, take the Hwy 17 exit into Summerville. Turn right at the light just past Chick-fil-A ( the 2nd light, I think). Go straight up the road and the theater will be on the left past a big steakhouse. It's a pretty good size."

http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.ph...5&page=1&pp=15 for the full blurb. Pages 5 & 6 are when they zero-in on it.

Ummm... I'm not too sure I want to go though. I think I'll just wait it out for another meet in good old Columbia area. I'm surprised this month isn't gonna be in Columbia, but, you never know... I'm just so freakin busy lately all the time, and I have a big week planned starting May 21st, thru the 29th.

Until then, if anyone wants to meet in the Columbia area just for an afternoon or evening though, I'm game...

well unfortunatly I'm not going to be there either, I'll be in florida for the EOD memorial cerimony. so yeah I guess I'm waiting for next month too. btw I saw anoth rx-7 on sunday just outside of sumter a white fd. I was following someone else to her house when I saw him at the light I wanted to race him so bad I was foaming at the mouth. I waited a bit at a light for the girl I was following to move up some and so did he then I didn't "gun it" but I let it stay in first a lil longer than normal. I guess he thought it was on cause he gunned it. I think it was stock cause it didn't seem to be that much faster than mine. I think it would have been a damn fine race

Sweet. I see a black FD a lot around my area. Nicely kept-up too. I did see a fairly nice looking red one at the Lugoff Burger King with a "for sale" sign in the window a while back. That was the first & last time I saw it. I saw a yellow highly modded FD at I-20 & Clemson Road going opposite me, about two weeks ago. Looked real nice. I don't remember seeing a white one though. I remember seeing a yellow one (might have been the same one) exiting the Wray Mazda service area. I was just standing around looking at the new 8's when it rolled by me. When he hit the road, he opened her up a good bit and it sounded very nice, with the appropriate popping during shifts. mhm.

Slightly North of Spartanburg here.

I'm in the process of getting in autocrossing now for the summer. I was planning either CCR or SCR.

Moved here a couple of months ago. NE Columbia. Anybody here do any aftermarket work on these babies? I would like to put that AV switch in for a DVD through the NAV.

Also, there is a SWEET yellow third gen in my apartment complex. I have yet to see the guy though to ask him if he's on the 7 forum.

Any Columbia members wanna grab a beer?

Yo

What kind of 8 do you have?

I'm in Lugoff. Where are you? I saw a yellow FD driving the opposite direction on Clemson Rd. at I-20 a few weeks back... i think it was heavily modded. Nice.

WantedTwo has me beat extensively with mods already. I'll let him speak for himself though...

Are you on the 7 forum?

04, dark green, touring package, 6 speed, nav, etc. no mods, just got it 2 months ago. I live in Wildwood. That yellow 7 does look and sound heavily modded, i would really like to see the guy who owns it.

I am on the 7 Forum... Just sold my white 91 vert to get this 8.

You know someone around here who could put in that AV switcher?

Ok, you'll be impressed with WantedTwo's mods. I just met him Saturday and he definitely got it going on. Nordic green - that's special.

I, and especially, my son (MRX_Rotary), are on the 7 forum. He though he recognized your forum name. He has a '91 FC. Between his 7 and my 8, we get together with the South Carolina RX-7 group that meets monthly - especially when the meet is in the Columbia area. It's a nice club - an interesting mix of RX enthusiasts. Reese just dropped a 20B into his 10AE. :D for instance.

About your AV switch, I didn't know there was a way of playing DVD's on the nav. But, I don't have a nav, hence the general lack of personal interest... although I wish I got one now. They're really nicer than I first thought. I'm a pre-order guy, so I didn't see one before I ordered my car. Oh well... Good luck on that. Sounds like you're wanting to electrically "Tee-in" a second DVD player to the monitor AV inputs. Sounds like a good idea, but I'm not all that sure about it either, like I said.

AV switch thing is here. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-s-video-into-nav-av-electronic-video-switcher-install-44095/ Think you could do that? I'm trying to get that in there and a Sub and I would be happy as ****.

I would like to get together and see some of the sweet mods you guys have on your cars. That 20B in a 10thAE sounds really sweet. I dont think i will heavily mod my car, as i have a baby on the way, but i would some ideas.

That and getting out of the house and drinking a couple beers always is good in my book.

That's a ghetto show indeed! I bet if you had disgustingly large chrome wheels, you would've gotten first. Did anyone there appreciate a clean stock body with performance mods? Sheesh... Here is my car, BTW: http://www.rx7club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=45068

Hey tabularasa. I told my dad that your name seemed real familiar when I saw him looking at this thread over the weekend. Now I know why, you were selling your vert rims and I asked about trading them with my '91 coupe rims because I really wanted them but I didn't have money, hehe. So I was speculating saving up when I got a job in the summer and buying them, but I saw you sold them already. That's cool though. It's good to finally know a rotary enthusiast in the NE Columbia area! I go to Ridge View High School, BTW. Well not for long as it's basically the last week of school. But my mom's house is deep in Blythewood's boonies, and my dad's house is, as my dad mentioned, in Lugoff. Where is Wildwood? I googled it, is it near Sesquicentenial? And about going out to grab a beer, as much as I wish I could, that's illegal for me (I'm 17). Besides that, there's an unwritten rule in the SC RX-7 club, that everyone abides by, that forbids alcohol consumption at local meets. I see a Titanium Grey RX-8 near Blythewood Middle School occasionally, and I saw a black one there as well one morning. And my friend says that he sees a Lightening Yellow RX-8 every morning going through The Summit. Anyways, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your Nordic Green RX-8! So look for a blue '91 coupe with fading paint flipping its headlights at you, lol. Although it won't be faded paint for long as I will be painting it in the summer as soon as it gets prepped and I have enough money to get it painted!

Yeah, i remember you asking for the trade. :D I did end up selling those quick. ****, I sold my '91 vert in 4.5 hours on there too. It was fantastic.

Yeah, Wildwood is near Sesquicentenial. It is really right at the 77 and 20 intersection. So thats really not too far from Lugoff. As for the beer, i wasn't really talking about the monthly meeting. I was more talking about an after work beer. But since your 17, thats not gonna work.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for your ride. Sounds pretty nice. I would like to see those mods.

Wish SOMEONE around here would feel confident in putting that AV switcher in. I'd hate to rip up my ride only to fail in the installtion. lol.

Anyway, we should get together sometime before my baby comes, because after that i will have no time for anything.

He evidently doesn't remember when we lived in ChimneyRidge, back behind that McDonalds. Could be because he was only 3 when we moved outta there. :D (I used to skinny-dip in that silverlake section of Wildwood, before they went and grew houses all around it. :o )

And, ya, beer is definitely bad for his health, if you know what I mean. (I quit "ole demon alcohol" for my religion too. Oh well.) Definitely stay tuned for whatever events may pop up though.

Mike, are you suprised to find that the local Sumter folk are not all that up on rotaries? Probably 2 people -tops- really knew what they were looking at. 40psi boost and drilled brake drums - now THAT's something. :p
