Any Columbia SC members?
Are there any forum members who meet in the midlands area? I just moved here, don't have an 8 yet, but plan to next year and would like to get hooked up with some knowledgable RX-8 owners before then. Any rotary clubs at all here?

I live in Prosperity, SC about 30 min. north of Columbia on I-26, in Newberry county. I am not a member of any rotary clubs but I plan on touring some of the auto x events in the area this year. I work in Columbia so you might see me in town. Let me know when you get your 8 and we will meet sometime.

Good to hear from you. I am actually in Irmo. May get one next year if business goes well. But at that time, I will need to determine if my driveway ramp is not too steep. I think it will be fine approached at an angle like I do with my wife's 626, but need to make sure before I plunk big money down and have to park it in the street! Maybe some others will post here so that a local group can be formed. As these cars age, a knowledge base of local shops and other things will be necessary to keep them economical.

I'm seeing plenty of 8's in the area. Saw another VR with the appearance package and painted rear grille and chrome wheels in Irmo today. I know there is another VR in the Ballentine area near Lake Murray in the Shadowood Cove subdivision.

My dad has an RX-8, and he lives in Lugoff. His screen-name is Racer X-8. I have an RX-7 and we have a meet every month. You RX-8 guys are more than welcome to come to the meets as well. Go to this forum for more info on RX-7 meets.

Nice bunch of mods there, WantedTwo. Would be nice to meet up with you. I see you got your stage 3 in now too. Likin it?
Yeah, me and my son would like to meet up with you for sure. Keep up with the RX-7 SC group. They're a nice bunch of folk. Regularly meet in the Columbia area, about every other month or so, alternating months at other SC locations, like, they just met in Chastown last weekend. Fun stuff with lots of rotory-type conversations. No anti-8 sentiment that I could pick up, except for a tad bit of jealousy.
Other than that, got any ideas? (My mind's drawing a blank right now, of course... I'm at work...)

Your schedule seems to probably ft-in with the next SC RX-7 club meet, which will probably be in Columbia area (purely a guess right now). Early May. Before that, I dunno. I'm committed to shoot a wedding video on the 16th, prob an all day event. 23rd & 30th just morning / early afternoon commitments.
Your graphs look quite nice. I'm lagging on doing mine. I got the stage 1 & the CZ software & cable, but I still gotta get the CANScan. Procrastination rules... not to mention all kinds of thing that suck-up all my free time. Man, I gotta do that... stupid missing with the stock CZ tuning. I gotta at least set those zero's.
I saw your posting in the CZ tuning thread. I get emails for any new posts there & try to keep up. That's where it's at. A bunch of those guys learned the hard way, so they're invaluable in as far as tuning info.

I'm still waiting on a responce to my graph from the cz section, I think its good cause the car seems to like it and the numbers are where their suposed to be, but I would still like someone else view that has tuned it more than just once. I did notice a power gain but not quite like I was expecting, probibly because most other stock maps dip into the elevins toward the higer end and my lowest was a 12.15. which for stock isn't too bad. now, on the meeting subject, the 7th of my weekend I'll be in florida presenting a donation check for the EOD memorial. I can't miss this because I have a personal stock in it. I don't know if you remember the "Mess Tent Bombing" in Iraq, but one of my EOD school classmates lost his life there and his name will be going on the wall this year. perhaps we can do the 1st. Whatever you dicide I'm game for just let me know - Michael

Yes, I remember that. Sorry to hear that. Freakin cowardly sub-humans, serving dead gods, doomed unto eternal death themselves.
So, anyway, yeah, backup plans - the next RX-7 club meet. They really are pretty fun to join in, believe me. Anybody else here want to join in on all this?

Yeah I hope they do, I'd love to light one of em up the same way they did my buddy, lots of ball bearings around some C. Makes for a nice slow death. The damn Air Force wont let me hold a fundraiser because of the AFA campaign, so I guess I'm going to be limited to "passing the hat" around the shop. Just wish I could do more. Oh well.

I've just PM'ed Reese, the main man with the SC RX-7 group. He should get back to me on the May plans -if any so far- real quick.
(He's taking his newly-20B-equipped FC to the Dragon Tail run this wekend. W00t!!)

Welcome back? Perfectly lousy day, I take it. At least you weren't the poor guy who I video'd getting married today. Another one bites the dust. (Her too.) :o
Well, the RX-7 guys are still debating over where to meet in May. Stay tuned...
oh, the rx-7 people from all over met last weekend at Deals Gap (Dragon's Tail). Must have been at least 50 of them! What an event! I didn't go, have just been reading their threads about it though. Oh well, maybe next time...
