Allies vs. Axisevent in GA
Allies vs. Axisevent in GA
Hello all, just wondered if you heard about this event. I personally have never been to South Georgia Motor Sports Park, but the event is said to be fun. Anybody plan on going? Here is the link-

nope, that's a bit too far for me...about 3-4 hours each way.
also, what exactly is it? the link just gives directions and times...doesn't really explain anything about it.

Sorry... it is an auto-x. I think that the format is just like a scca event with a foriegn vs. american made twist. I heard about it at the FL State Championship by word of mouth.
I looked up the venue, looks nice...

if it wasn't so far away, i might check it out, but i'd have to leave at 3:30 to get there for registration. if i did that, i'd be worthless that day, and falling asleep while autoxing sounds like a bad idea to me
if you go, let us know how it goes.

Well the event was fun... The venue was good... The semi-rigged concept was shady at best.
It was a d-day tribute type of deal - allies(american, english, ect.) cars against the enemy(japanese, german, ect.) cars. Done just like a solo 2 event. They did a wierd class bumping deal. Basically if you had one of the "enemy" type cars, your classes were as they would normally be in an auto-x. If you were driving a mini cooper, ford, or chevy they "bumped" to different classes. Obviously the allies won. This axis vs allies thing was only revealed at the end, didn't really affect the event. It was kind of strange seeing a 6 cyl mustang running by himself in AM.
All in all, the course was fast and fun. I met one of the guys from the GA group. Thanks for the shoe polish!
But it was cool to finally see a few rx8s at an event.

It was me you met. I had a blast too. Those tires you got from ULLLOSE did you well! I don't see too many RX-8's at the autocrosses there. I mainly go to the Middle GA SCCA events and they are a bit smaller, but you get more runs. I liked the course we were at though. I hope to see you again at a few events. Come join us at the NASA events. Taking the 8 on a Road Course is amazing!

You will have a blast, I know I will be at RA, I am sure TrackAddict will be too. And I am sure some of the other guys will be too. Sometime in January, I am sure a thread will get started in the Se forum...
, one usually pops up.
