oh ****! Sorry to hear that Mac. If it's as bad as it seems, I'm hoping they don't offer to fix her and you can just pick up an 8 from someone else. (they're never quite the same after having major work done)

I was actually considering buying it back and turning it into a dedicated Time Attack car and leasing a Mazda3 as another option.

From my initial inspection I believe the frame/chassis to be straight. Might need a little tug but nothing major. No creases on the roof, most sheet metal panels are in good shape (sans front end) with all lines being good/consistant and no glass broke or cracked other than the windshield when the bags deployed. the car *initially* looks very sound. Would take putting it on the rack and measuring to make absolutely certain of that, though.

To add to this I will entertain offers from anyone who wants to purchase the entire roller + drivetrain (~27k miles) back from my insurance co if the deem it a "total loss". The car is a 04 sport 27k on chassis and drivetrain with a very nice interior. Will need front bags and associated hardware and a front clip (fenders, hood, bumper cover, wheel well plastic on at least DR side, undertay, front upper rails) a radiator, possibly an a/c condenser, and a rear bumper cover and PS tail light. Potentially more,we have not dug into the car yet. The hood latch was jammed shut and I didn't want to dick with it on the highway. There is also an issue with the brake pedal being pegged on the floor board. I know I didn't hit the brakes when I lost the back end but it may have happened during the impact. It would sure explain my ankle.

 

All thing's considered I'm now kinda bumed someone picked up CosmosM's car. I had my eye on that thing. It was nice.
