Looking for rolling chassis

Year: 2006
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $1000
Mileage: 0
Color: Any
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): CA

Hey All - my track prepared 2006 Phantom Blue RX-8 got wrecked, not by me, and insurance totaled it out. I hope to transfer all the hardware over to a nice roller (bad motor or no motor).

I will consider any year, color, mileage, condition, etc. but it must be a NON-SUNROOF car, preferably a base model with manual transmission. Mods are nice but not required because I have the necessary parts. Appropriate price to be worked out.

Nearness to California (SF Bay area) is a consideration too, to minimize transportation costs.

Thanks for looking! Damien a.k.a. NorCalEight

Thanks guys, I saw that ad (and I love that stormy blue color) and if nothing turns up in a base model, I'll start looking at GTs. And then I'll start a thread about turning a GT into a base model.

It's not just the sunroof that makes a GT extra work and extra waste. Specifically I don't want the stability/traction control system, suspension sensors for HIDs (yes the HIDs are much better but I can retrofit those in fixed position), fancy stereo & extra speakers, heated/power/leather seats, navigation system & GPS, wiring for all the above. I'm a fan of the base model for simplicity and lightness.

FYI - this was resolved in October 2018. I bought a 2005 RX-8 base model, manual trans, 120k miles, straight body in WWP, blown engine for $1300. It took about a month to swap in my good Renesis motor, get the airbag and fuel tank recalls performed, emissions test done, and receive new plates from DMV. Now working on the go-faster bits!
