I am thinking about selling my 2004 Rx8. I could really use the money for a house and the fact that I don't really use it much anymore. The car is garage kept all year round and does not see inclement weather. *It is not my daily driver*.

I am not thinking about parting it out at this time, but it may come to that point. The car would be sold as is, with all of the parts listed below on it.

I listed the price at $28,000 but I am willing to listen to reasonable offers. There is over $13,000 in upgrades (excluding labor) on the car.

pheww. you better not sell. a local owner sold her rx8. it was beautiful. now, it's nowhere to be seen on any forums. ....at least not that i've seen.

 

LOL You mean Kuro? I bought her car, it's now down here in Tampa,FL :D don't worry it's still maintained very well and kept immaculate. I have big plans for it in the next few months though

Ok now back on topic, I would agree you'll never get your money back out of the car unless you part it out, which I would hate to see happen....so don't sell unless you find someone that's see's the actual value in the car.

The wife doesn't want me to sell it either.... So I guess I will hold onto until the right offer comes around, if it does....

Maybe instead of a house I will save for an LS1 conversion...

not sure if I see the logic in your price. no modded 04 = 10k, 13k in mods and yet 28k asking price.

I hope someone will give you enough for it so it doesnt get parted because you always had a sick looking car.

That's a gorgeous car! The biggest problem you'll have ever selling thus car in "one piece" is most people don't have $28k just laying around and NO bank or credit union is going to loan a nickel over book value. Heck, at 8, going on 9 years old, unfortunately there's going to be fewer and fewer banks that are going to want to finance it at all as time ticks by.

Parting it out will be your only (eventual) way to go. Thank God you didn't need to sell it. It's too beautiful to part out. Keep it. Enjoy it. You built an amazing ride!
