Zaino practical for college campus?

Well, I have been considering buying Zaino because I've heard the continued praise for it here on the site. I was wondering if this would be practical considering I park outside 24 hours a day at college?? I would be able to go home to wash it about once a month. If I were to most always park outside, is it worth it to get Zaino, when chances are my car will be dirty again in a few days anyway?? Are there other good products other than zaino that I could take to the do it yourself carwash when im at school that you would recommend??

(I have considered buying a car cover for the 8, but I am all but convinced that this would be an invitation to the low lifes at my school to vandalize, so I dont want to take that chance.)

what school do you go to? Also have you thought about an alarm upgrade...not saying it would do to much good though but atleast you'll hear something...also if its a small school then word gets around and if anyone touched my car i would make a very nice example out of them...

I've used both products... you get what you pay for. Liquid is not the same league as Zaino. Try the tissue way and you'll see why... still has residues.

I have personally used Meguiars nxt (photos on rx8.tremornet.net ) and now I am using zaino. Having a black rx8 and living in an apartment in Florida I can tell you it is a PAIN to keep clean. Zaino is really good and seems to get better every time, easier to apply, etc. NXT was also very good though and I dont hesitate to recommend it either. I am not convinced one is better than the other but give me another year with the 8 in Florida rain and I will let you know.

I use NXT as well. I love the product. I park my car outside all the time as well since there are no decks at my college. I am usually forced to park near pine trees (and we all know what pain tree sap is) and it protects my car for about 2 weeks before I notice it starting to get dirty again. You can get NXT at some if not all Wal-Marts. Good luck keepin your 8 clean!

I agreee with grapes. Klasse is not a wax, it's a sealent. It will protect your car for a long time. I think they recommend it to be applied every few months. Obviously you may want to touch it up every month or so but it should hold up better than any wax. Also, if you have Klasse applied, you should be able to brush over the car every once in a while with some duster or microfiber and a little bit of qd to get the light dirt/dust off.

Thank you Flawless for the response. I do indeed use both between aplications, both microfiber towles and a california duster. I'm very careful to use the duster only when both car and duster are relatively clean. I would say a month is just about right between treatments with a car that's left outside. Seriously, more people should try KLASSE, they would be amazed at the results. I used to put a high quality German P21-S wax on over but i don't even bother anymore.

I use NXT as well. But I park my car in a parking structure on college campus so I am able to avoid some outside debris. My car stays mostly clean, but I always keep microfiber towels in my car to clean before and after I go out. It'll be impossible to keep your car clean outside, so I say just carry tons of microfiber towels and go home more. <--- That is what I do.
