Why not Liquid Glass?

I am really considering using Liquid Glass to protect my RX8 (When I get it).

Is Liquid Glass not a polymer? Won't it protect my clear coat from bird droppings, etc. I will be parking my car outfoors (L.I. NY) and do want to do the correct thing BUT I am not one to honestly spend hours & hours doing the job every month.

Ideally I would like to apply the Liquid Glass proceess when I first get the car and them do weekly ,or so, car washes and reapply LG every other month or so (Maybe less in the Winter).

There is much discusion of Zayno and little of Liquid Glass.

Am I on the wrong path?

Thanks,

Claude H.

I bought it, it works just fine. Water beads like marbles on glass everytime I wash.

My RX-8 (left) is as shiny as a brand new apple .

Zaino is probably better, or so I'm told, but it's for another day.

I've used Liquid Glass in the past on other cars and Zaino on my 8. The amount of effort/time is really not that different when applying the polish. Zaino should last longer on the car so you might end up appying it less times/yr than LG. (2x a year recommended for Zaino I believe)

If I wasn't turned on to Zaino by this forum I'd be using LG too...

Finally, some positive reports on LG.

I would be willing to apply myself more diligently (often) with LG as long as it will protect the car properly as I w/b parking it outside winter/summer.

I plan on using a car wash weekly or so. Will LG stay on the car? Do I need to do anything more with LG products?

They seem to have a total kit for about $40.

Thanks

Used all the fancy crap...Klasse, Zaino, blah blah...still back with Liquid Glass. It seems to hold up well, give great shine with little effort. Doesn't last as long as Zaino or Klasse, but I wax my car very often. Great stuff...$17 at AutoZone.

I will say that Zaino lasts for a while both on the car as well as in the bottle! When you get 8 oucnes of Z2, thats good for a good 12 aplications minimum on the 8. I know I use just about 3/4 of an ounce per layer and I can probably get that down further. I just have a hard time seeing it on the car sometimes :D

So that 42 dollar Zaino order (personally, I'd just get Z2, Z6, Z7 and ZFX since the car didnt really need the claybar, and being a light color doesnt need the Z5 (black and green only need it)) is going to last you 4 years if your lazy, or at least a year if you layer a coat of Zaino on once a month. Zaino layers nicely too. I have 4 on the car and am noticing the changes in the luster.

Don't forget that you can layer LG also!
